I use a land line. Cell phones hold no interest for me.

I use a iPhone but it was just by chance that I picked it. I see really no difference in out come but won't change because I don't want to learn a different system.

Don't carry a cell phone.

I was required to carry one (AND a pager)for work, and between the two devices they managed to make my life a living hell with it.

I swore off cell phones permanently when I retired.

Until Superstorm Sandy, I had a dumb TracFone. Working with Occupy Sandy N.J., while other communications were so spotty, I upgraded to their version of unlimited service, Net10, with a drugstore-purchased LG phone. The Internet service was so bad—NJ Transit and Google Web pages were “too big”, and the phone apparently had no idea of how to find the mobile versions—that I dropped the browser capability and saved $12/month—as I am almost always with my laptop, I can surely use that $144 annually myself!

I always thought it odd JT didn't include Palm (the original smartphones) in his poll question (Palm was a viable company at the time this thread began).

I had two Palm devices - a Centro and a Treo. I almost went with a Pre, but doubted Palm's viability going forward, so I switched to Android when it was time for an upgrade. A year after that, Palm was out of the smartphone market.

Now I'm on my third Android - it is a buttery-smooth Samsung Galaxy with KitKat 4.4. I sometimes turn on the old Treo. Wow - the improvements since those days are incredible.

I carry an older flip phone, but it is usually off and, I only put time on it when it gets close to expiring. Unless there is a reason to have it on I haven't much use for one. I have a land line, and it rings enough as it is.

Regular cell phone. Cannot afford a smartphone on disability. Also rather like "not being able to afford champagne on a beer budget."
