The cognitive dissonance of the Luddite Green Left. At least, in New England, liberals tend to be paying the bills for Obama's disastrous energy policy. (Elections have consequences. And if you voted for the wrong guy, well you should pay for your actions.) Unfortunately, those that do NOT vote liberal are picking up the check as well:This shortage-induced price spike is the inevitable result of an energy policy based on wishes and dreams, rather than economic reality. It is the energy policy candidate Obama wanted and Obama delivered. For the most part, New Englanders cheer him on. They applaud the closing of the “dirty” coal plant in Salem but wail over the electricity rate hikes that result. They curse nuclear energy, but wait until they see how the closing of Vermont Yankee increases the region’s dependence on natural gas. They give grudging approval to natural gas plants, then protest the construction of pipelines to supply them. Even wind farms come in for criticism because they
