"The next question should be "How much COAL was burned to provide the electricity for these Volts?" California (which, as the article states, is home to >40 percent of Volts) gets only 7.5 percent of its electricity from coal. http://energyalmanac.ca.gov/electricity/total_system_power.html On a nationwide basis, we get 37 percent of our electricity from coal. And lately, that number has been dropping every year.

Congratulations on posting for 700 consecutive days, that's dedication. WE are in agreement about the Keystone XL Lets be buddies also. Thanks. .Shep

I noticed you put no credibility in the Pew poll on the Keystone XL. Well, perhaps you'd believe the June 2013 Harris Poll which found 82% of Americans believe Keystone XL is in the National Interest. Or perhaps, the latest United Technologies/National Journal Congressional Connection Poll finds that more than two-thirds of respondents, 67 percent, support building the pipeline to carry Canadian oil to refineries on the U.S. Gulf Coast; that includes 56 percent of Democrats. Less than a quarter of Americans, 24 percent, oppose the project, the poll shows.

Excellent post in the poll question thread. This was not the question that had been produced in the Suggest a Poll Question thread. They want dumbed down questions these days, I guess.

techque wrote "the worst is the double weight mother in her double weight suv idling a block from home waiting for the school bus !!" And then taking her double weight kids to McDonalds drive thru.-------------- Ha, ha. I enjoyed the post, and your addition.

You do realize that we are still a net IMPORTER of oil (by over 8 million barrels a day)? We don't produce enough domestic crude to support our consumption. The article is about how we are a net exporter of finished oil products like gasoline and diesel, not a net exporter of oil...
