I heard it was a good people watching experience too. I still plan on going as always. This year I'm going to pre-purchase tickets so I HAVE to go!

I'm with you about the weekends. The Renaissance fest is another yearly event I've missed year after year. After years of trying to talk my kids into going with me, they went on their own, with their friends. :( I never say never, though.

At least your weekend was productive. Everything I "planned" didn't work out for one reason or another. No worries, stuff happens.

As much as I admire nurses, sad to say, I'm not a nurse. I'm sorry I missed the 1996 D/C too! Thank you, matman01, I had an interesting weekend, how was yours?

by Sisu58  Aug 17, 2014

Your welcome. I didn't watch much of the cruise, I peeked in on it from time to time. I heard about it after the 1995 D/C was over, the next year I was working 10-12 hours on the afternoon shift, that killed my chances of going. I heard it was the place to be, darn it. Hope your having an excellent weekend!

My childhood home was also flooded, lost most of my "cherished" toys. What a mess! I have always had a love and weakness for classic cars, but my aversion to huge crowds and traffic jams wins that debate. I wouldn't go near that area today. I'll check it out on TV instead.

I can empathize with those affected by the flooding, after once experiencing a flooded basement, I know how devastating it can be. I too am grateful we did not have to suffer the effects of a flood. Enjoy your weekend!

Glad to hear you're safe and dry. One of my old neighborhoods was north Warren, I still have family that lives there. They were very close to the epic flooding but did not sustain any damage. Thank goodness! I hope your having an excellent day!

Also, Joeski is right about there being plenty of options, and I use solar myself where I can, but I also use what's more readily and easily available for me and what I can afford. If I had more, I'd be doing more than just solar, wind and geo-thermal, and you'd see the first Tesla that could get over 500 miles per charge! You'd also see one of the few Fusion hybrids or Prius hybrids that would get over 1000 miles per tank.
