Good to hear! On the PV end of things, just start slow. It's what I've got some doing around here and elsewhere now doing. If anything, try to save up enough to use it for backup power in emergencies; and to have enough of it available and to use at least part of the time to reduce your costs even a little bit. If you've got plenty of wind, consider that as well or that primarily. Our former governor Crist said we don't have wind here in Florida. I'm glad he's not in, and hope he doesn't get voted back in as he's stupid as hell. Others who support him say there's not enough of it commerically is what he meant. None of that is true. We have enough wind every day to produce juice, just not 24/7. Solar doesn't work 24/7 either, but they will both help and you can use both of them and more. Of course, it all takes money.

"I would love to live off grid but it is far to expensive to set up and maintain" It is and it isn't. But, you can start and make use of what you can and what you can afford to do. Start with a solar hot water heater. People use solar up there in Canada and even Alaska. It doesn't take $7000 to make a system either as I've helped some people do theirs for less than $1500 and less than $1000. Hope you had a great Independence Day. Have a great day and week ahead.
