evowner, I have to ask, what do you define as "Congress acts responsibly, they are criticized"? If Congress acted responsibly with all that money I mention below there'd never be an issue. Are you saying responsibility means raising the fuel tax?

Happy Independence Day! Hope you're having a safe & Happy 4th of July!!

evowner - "The present administration has cut the taxes along with decreasing the deficit." This comment is so disconnected from anything that could be considered reality, that I wanted to make sure everybody read this response from evowner. Are there really people out there that believe either one of those statements? No wonder Obama got elected twice, if this is what people who voted for him actually believe.

You need to clean up your postings. They are spread out too far.

My research on PGE was selective in that I have a few shares in my retirement funds. Otherwise, I would not have had an idea on the tremendous size of Oregon rebates.

Or perhaps they're not providing all the details to those that don't do their homework. I find it strange that that $20K figure is found in so many reference articles, including the prospectus I received from PGE. I'm pretty sure I read that in there while reviewing their financials.

Here's that one

I don't think there's a misprint. From another site: Solar Electric Buy-down Program This program is designed for customers of Pacific Power and Portland General Electric (PGE). Rates are $1.50/watt for Pacific Power customers and $1.75/watt for PGE customers. The maximum on both is a whopping $20,000. Requirements state that the system must be new and minimum warranties are two years on parts and labor, five years for inverters, and 20 years on the panels themselves. Self-installed systems are not eligible and professional installers must be Energy Trust-certified. Energy Trust rebates are paid to the contractor and then deducted from the final cost of the system.
