I suppose it's part of the push to get us into EVs and hybrid's too. I would buy one if it weren't the price of a small house. I can buy a lot of gas for $25 - 30k. Like Kermit the Frog says: "It's not easy being green."

Hi, When did WI change from salt to sand? I left in 1980 and when I traded in my 5 yr old car it had quarter-sized rust holes in the front quarter panel. I think you are spot-on about the lobbying. Of course the politicos can afford to buy a new car every 2 years (or less) and not worry about loss of value. GRRR!

Hi, They are threatening to use salt in Oregon and Washington and they act like it's no big deal. It makes me think about becoming one of those activists.

Hi, Thanks. Ride was all I was allowed in this model. Our family car when I was a kid was a 4-door 1959 Ford Fairlane. My brother took it over about 1966 and drove it until about 1971. Wisconsin roads are salted so rust was a problem. What surprises me the most is my conservative dad bought a car that ended up being a classic!
