If you became my newest red car buddy, I wouldn't bother you for another million points! I'd just be your silent buddy! Please become my newest red car buddy! Thanks! Have a nice weekend! Ron

by lgppa  Jan 09, 2014

A BIG CONGRATS on reaching that 1M mark and your first new red car! Awesome, most new GBs will never make it to 1M, but you did! : ) You're one of only 7,744 GBs of more than 8,000,000 that signed up to be GasBuddies to have accumulated at least 1,000,000 points! Keep going another 2 or 3 million! Another 2M and you'll be into that nice big limo! : ) Only 2,898 GBs have made it to 2M, so there is room for you there also! Many GBs ahead of you have already retired! DON'T give up now like so many of those that retired once they got to 1M and those that got to 2M! You're doing great, it takes persistence and dedication to keep climbing that GasBuddy ladder, but you can do it, so keep going! Keep going like a PRO Denver GasBuddy, leading the way here in GasBuddyland for others to follow! You've been a great GasBuddy! Have a nice week! Thanks! Ron

OK Vetteblu

by drpepperTX  Sep 25, 2013

From that article "In more than 90 years of monitoring, human activity has been shown to trigger only 154 quakes, most of them moderate or small, and only 60 of them in the United States. That's compared with a global average of about 14,450 earthquakes of magnitude 4.0 or greater every year, said that report. Most of those are caused by gas and oil drilling the conventional way, damming rivers, deep injections of wastewater and purposeful flooding. Only two worldwide instances of shaking - a magnitude 2.8 tremor in Oklahoma and a 2.3 magnitude shaking in England- can be attributed to hydraulic fracturing, a specific method of extracting gas by injection of fluids. Both were in 2011."

With all due respect, Vetteblu I have found no references to what ever you perceived as evidence of hydraulic fracturing ever causing a quake in CO. Perhaps you could provide some citations? At my age, LOL, I know verifying through reliable reference is an important part of my research. Even Colorado's own Aspen Times makes no mention of your claims in this article: http://www.aspentimes.com/ARTICLE/20121204/NEWS/121209943 You would think that article would have referenced whatever you think you read 30-40 years ago.

Nope, I was living in Texas at the time, the 60's, when what you speak of was referenced. But the fact remains these were US Army disposal wells you read about. If you want to ignore the facts that's your choice, I prefer reality. "Back in the 1960s the U.S. Army injected 165 million gallons of toxic fluids down a 12,000-foot deep disposal well at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Colorado. Over the subsequent years hundreds of earthquakes shook Colorado, one as strong at 6 on the Richter (that’s 100 times bigger than the Ohio quakes, fyi). That volumes pumped into the Arsenal wells were vastly more than anything injected in Ohio. The stuff being injected was probably far more terrible too. The Arsenal was used by the military to make chemical agents like Sarin, napalm, mustard gas and PCBs. Eventually the Army stopped the Arsenal injections, hoping to end the quakes. Sorry you're memory is not sound, those were disposal wells.

"IT STILL CAUSES EARTHQUAKES AND HAS BEEN PROVEN 30 YEARS AGO!!" ========================== Nope, no matter how you shout it, that's not fact. http://m.newsok.com/seismologist-fracking-doesnt-cause-earthquakes/article/feed/588526/?page=1

Thanks a million for your comments. IMHO, US innovation should help create +ve results & create lower gas prices.
