I signed up for the solar last Nov. They were slow and it wasn't turned on until Feb. I already got $5,000 back on taxes and have a little carryover for next year. Slate roof, bet that was expensive, but fireproof. I did a solar water heating system when I was unemployed back in '82. It ran for almost 30 years and then froze to death. The controller didn't kick on to recirculate 75° water. Got any spare cookies in the clown??

I just noticed one of your posts about the Keystone pipeline. Wholeheartedly agree with you. IF we had a ban on the overseas export of any fuels refined in the U.S. it might make sense. I always say, build a modern refinery in Alberta and pipe the fuel east and west to Canada's population centers. North American oil belongs in N.A. and so does the fuel. I just commissioned a smallish, 3kWhr Solar PV system on our south facing roof. Electric bill in Feb. 2014 = $73.20 electric bill in Feb. 2015 = $21.13 and $10 of each is the basic monthly service charge.

There have been news stories about the east-bound pipeline to get Alberta Tar Sands oil to Quebec and the shipping lanes available there... And how the Canadian government won't do it for environmental concerns. Vastly under-reported and under-noticed.

Hope your relatives here are happy. I moved here 39 years ago and have never left, or really thought about leaving (except after Ike).....My point was that lots of county governments are pulling lots of revenue from the oil fields. The taxpayers might be happy about that.

Good morning, a lot of my posts get pulled even thou they are gas related some how. Hope you are having a great weekend, the ones I posted today are still there

Suzzoom, if you go over to the full article, you'll see at the bottom that there are a lot of places making lots of money via fracking. Ouch...!!! Facts hurt.

I liked the old way too, since besides the $250 gas card weekly, they had a couple of contests where they gave away scooters or mopeds--can't remember which.

Yes, I seem to remember when the site was sold, I think it's been about three or four years now. Back when there was one drawing a week for a $250 card instead of the daily $100 drawings, my other half won once. Used the $250 on the drive from CA to Texas and back home. Wound up spending about $30 out of pocket for gas on that trip.
