Hi Suzanne, When I joined GasBuddy Oct., 2006, we were driving a '96 Grand Cherokee with all the bells and whistles including their biggest V-8. We bought it used in about 2002, I had dreamed of having a Jeep most of my life. We did a lot of exploring in Arizona's great outback. We are at ~2,500 ft. and are almost surrounded by mountains. The one about 25 mi. away, across town, goes up to 9,500 ft. and there is winter skiing. Anyway, when gasoline prices spiked above $4/gal nationally, $3.85 here in 2008, we traded her in for a '06 Audi sedan with a turbocharged, 2.0 L, 4 cylinder engine. It is fun to drive and VERY fast if needed, but I miss being able to wander off road, where allowed. I was in Barstow, CA. from the 5th to the 9th grade, went to high school in Escondido. Then I moved to Dallas, but returned to Riverside in 1965 to go to college at UCR. I was transferred over here in '80, we like it but I sure miss being able to drive to Laguna Beach on a whim.
