Where do you get the wholesale prices?

by LanguageMan1  Oct 01, 2014

"So much for our dropping prices. GREEDway had better not get wind of this." The article was written by someone who doesn't know what I and others know. I said three weeks ago that "...prices will be going up within the next five to eight weeks, and by the 20th of November at the latest." I'm almost certain that we'll see another round of increases right before the 20th, but we're up here at many stations already. Other folks are as well. One the wholesale markets, it's been up by as much as 20 to 25 cents off of the lows, and that means higher prices to come at the pump.

RapMassaG, in my 35 years working for an electric utility holding company, there have been numerous substation, transformer, distribution/transmission line and generation unit forced outages due to squirrels, hawks, eagles, opossums, raccoons, copper/metal thieves and snakes managing to make a connection between two power points in our electric generation and wires system. Yes, it is 100% plausible that a squirrel could cause an outage at a refinery and a forced outage at a refinery is much more trouble, expensive and time consuming to correct than a forced outage at a substation or generation unit.

"...seeing jumps as high as 40 cents/gallon...." You will go higher still at some point.

by LanguageMan1  May 21, 2014

" markets had frozen.... Not a fun time...." Hell, what are you talking about? It's not a fun time now! You go ahead and try living the homeless life and being out of work.

"yak - that difference can be attributed to higher taxes." Really? Since when? Where? Did they raise it nationally? Do you realize that they want to make it 15 to 50 cents higher on the gas taxes nationally still and that at least seven to 11 more states are going to raise it more? Do you even realize that Obama, many of his administration, the EPA, eco-nazis [I'm I greenie, but I'm not a whacko like them] and many others want $5 to $14 a gallon gas?

Have you considered the Kroger 123 Rewards Visa? You get an extra 25cents/gal the forst three months and then an extra five cents/gallon thereafter? Just a thought.
