Did you successfully get your free ticket?

by Sneakers55  Feb 11, 2014

As to the point count, you get 150 points for the first five prices you enter. Doesn't matter if the price changes or not. When you update an unchanged price, you update the last time the price was seen. The GasBuddy software displays only "fresh" prices. In Houston, "fresh" is 48 hours on workdays and 60 hours on weekends. I go around and update more prices on Sundays because of that.

You go in and get the free ticket before you do ANYTHING. Buy all the tickets you can before midnight, then go in and buy a ticket right after midnight when your ticket count resets to zero. That's how you get the free ticket.

by Sneakers55  Feb 11, 2014

True, but there's about a 20:1 ratio between people that read prices and people that update prices. And updating prices is how you get the great majority of points.

On the other hand, I like the $100 gas cards. GasBuddies used to get only $250 in free gas a week; now they get $700 worth.

How to get a free ticket: After you do your GasBuddy activity for the day, go in and buy all the tickets you can. First thing in GasBuddy the next day, go in and try to buy a ticket. If you do it right, you will find the drop down where you usually buy tickets set to "1 Free Ticket". Click on the green button where you buy tickets and you will get your free ticket! You can get one every day!
