at the time i started posting gas buddy's policy (as stated in their own FAQ section) was to post the full credit price. apparently they had changed their policy and never notified their user base. i dont know what prompted their change.
this is the first i had heard of any such law. after a brief web search i was unable to find any such law in NY, however i DID find that very law in Massechusets! I was also able to find this helpful link for NY:

It appears the NYS Bureau of Weights and Measures may be the governing body. perhaps an inquiry with them would be helpful.
regardless it is very disheartening that gasbuddy would reverse its policies so willy-nilly. what is to say they wont re-reverse their policy tomorrow? Personally i think there is a reasonably simple solution for gas buddy to completely avoid the issue...make a simple revision to its platform (web and mobile of course) that allows for 2 columns on the price reporting page, one f
