I'm sorry to hear of your dad's passing. My Dad passed in 1972 and I was only 14 yrs old. It was so hard growing up but now I have a great life after going through a rough road but now I have a great life since 11-26-88. That's when I got sober, and still sober to this day One Day at a Time.

To MINER's daughter. My condolences to you on the loss of your father, MINER. I lost my own Dad about this time four years ago and it is still so painful. God bless you. Write to me anytime.

What facts are what based on? The article does not say there is a shortage of electricity. It says pure electrics such as the Leaf could leave you stranded when the battery dies as it does not have gas back-up like the Volt. Tons of people on this site have range anxiety and many of those same people do not understand the Volt can go cross country without any problems or long waits to charge.

Miner,When I complain about something,I'm given the same line you quoted," You are the first one ever to bring this up". This leads me to distrust that individual or who he represents.

Keep after these "hey, he doesn't look like me" posters (like jerod13) if that's what they are. I'm tired of their attacks on a guy who's been in office all of 17 months while they ignore the policies that were put in place over the prior eight years.

MINER, First starter for cars was by Clyde J. Coleman 1903: is issued a patent for an electric automobile starter. Coleman originally applied for the patent in 1899. Coleman sold his patent to the Delco Company, which was taken over by General Motors. Charles Kettering, a Delco engineer who joined GM, did some tinkering with Coleman's design and received his own patent for an improved version. The 1912 model Cadillac became the first car to replace the hand crank with an electric starter motor.http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2008/11/dayintech_1124
