Interesting I see what I missed by leasing. SolarCity is doing in large scale what you are doing selling the credits. Today looks like a really good day. Maybe 22 KW-Hours. Our system uses 1 dc-ac inverter which is rated to 3.5 KW I think. Occasionally, we see peaks of 4010 or 4011 but never much over 3600-3800 watts continuously. Most of the time it is less than 3000 watts. We are approaching 9300 total kw hours since installation. The 1964 buick Wildcat had a huge 4 barrel on it and it would leave about 100 ft of rubber when you floored it in 1st gear about 20 ft of rubber when it shifted into 2nd and a loud chirp when it shiffted into 3rd at about 80. Mileage was not too good 13 to 17 on the highway. It had good brakes for drums all of the hot rodders liked the Buick drum brakes they were the best until disk brakes.

Hi Joe- I posted an article that I think you'll like: http://www.newjerseygasprices.com/news/Study_It_Is_Feasible_to_Power_California_With_Renewables/89214_580298/index.aspx

The only maintenance was the remote monitoring system which is wireless and has failed to monitor the system a few for various reasons. For really high speeds tires are a big issue. I think the fastest I have been is about 115 and that car had more power but the suspension and aero was not up to more speed. It was a 1964Buick Wildcat with a 401 Nailhead and 10.5 to 1 compression.

So you generated 10,000 kw extra after your own use? And you are right you can't sell your credits so that is a major advantage. I am just happy to essentially have no bill and displace the ton and a half of coal it would have taken to generate my power. Also it got cloudy here and I didn't quite get my 22 just 21.2 so it was close.

One more day, Joe...one more day (or stay up past midnight!)

Sorry about the empty one. I am looking for about22 kw or maybe better today. The air is clear and humidity and temp low so odds are good. Just read somewhere about some group that is altering the surface finish of solar panels to reject Infra Red and so reduce the heating of Solar panels. ambient temps seem to effect strongly solar panel output.

Yeah would not have known about these except for a line or two in Hot Rod mag. Don't forget there is also the El Mirage dry lake runs in Cal. and of course the big one Bonneville in Utah. SCTA I think runs both of those. Bonneville is hard to get into unless you are known. There may be one in Maine as well. 04 TL will do 160? That is fast. Only been that fast on the French bullet trains. with some aero mods who knows. You say you get back 10 as an owner of your system? 10 what? As an leaser I get service and repair for 10 years. My only regret is that it was not a bigger system but it pretty much filled the best roof exposure. .
