Thanks for the compliment on my ILX.. wait till I put the factory under spoilers on... dealer asked for $3000 plus tax installed .. I got 'em for just over $1300 tax included.. now to drill.... a much anticipated spring thaw job...

When you write about yer wind turbine I would like to know what you have done. I think it would be nice to have one. We get a fair bit of wind in the Boston area. One theory I have is that in the sailing ship days there was almost always enough wind around here to sail. That made Boston important early on.

LED Christmas lights up! All new... cut our power demand on that item by over 1200 watts... I will have them on 6 hrs per night from yesterday till 01/06/15! Hope the pilots will still be able to find PHI! Happy Thanksgiving jay... joe

jay.......... bagged a solid 30 kW hrs today.... thinking of your solar reporting assignment..... jimmy and I are all eyes and ears... we're discussing heat pumps and the new chevy 2016 volt today... wanna chime in?? joe

read that article... wonder how Sc is doing with that? Still jammed up in the courts I bet??.. well.. there's a great use for all those batteries when they reach their end lifetime in tesla's.. use them for home storage and back up power...

In some places solar power has made so much inroads in the market that there are no longer any peak loads in the summer that need to be met with outside power. The peaker plants are now solar panels widely distributed. The peak hours were the hours that power cos. made most of their profits. So the whole business model needs to be revamped. We lived in Ca in 2000 when Enron rigged the power system for phony blackouts and extorted huge amounts of money from the ratepayers. They now could not be done because California has too much solar power.

too... so yes.. we're waiting on answers.. the 'shack' is too far away.. okay.. busy boy... when you have a moment... details, details, details.. or as some would say the favour of "informational bantering" requested.... rock on! joe

by Joeski1  Nov 06, 2014

Yo jay.. first solar? okay.. that's better than last solar... you're doing good so far... ah... panels go where? roof or ground? how many? what brand? estimated power offset? .. yup.. that's bantering!! You must be a working guy with all that stuff on yer 2do list... I know i'm retired... I think jim is as we banter... now about the fish... yes.. cook it outside please.. I love seafood and fresh fish.. usually get it on dinner out.. because of the lasting aromas... I've got a hibachi I cook on.. 1lb lpg tanks.. I set up two beat up wooden workhorse.. take an old stop sign 48X48.. lay it across the horses.. then set my hibachi up on that.. after I finish.. I break it back down.. oddly no body has ever tried to steal my grill... every 4 or 5 years.. I toss it and buy another $25 grill.... Now I'm giggling seeing what james wrote.. is venting important with an outdoor cooker like a chiminea?? Hell ya.. don't start the thing on yer porch!1 It will soot the ceiling and melt it to

Joeski said to mention venting and gas heaters. Gas space heating appliances must have a flue or other vent to the outside. This was true 30 or more years ago. I don't know how kitchen stoves that run on gas get a pass on vents but they do. We used to live in an old apartment with '40s vintage gas stove/heaters and they had a flue pipe so this has been a requirement in MA for a very long time. How about that Washing machine wind turbine is it a vertical turbine? What do you use for a load and what kinds of control dinsconnect devices do you have? Seems like I saw something like this on Utube.

Yo jay.. howz it going?? any forward motion on the photon harvesting ?? Jimmy and I are debating the merits of solar city bonds.. now available direct to the public... the 'city' needs cash infusion so they can keep installing pv systems and writing more leases.. the capital cost can be staggering for some even if it's the best investment they'll ever make.. of course I'm an owner.. and to me that beats leasing by miles.. of course a 'lease' solar bum might tell you different.. lots of folks are diving in here.. but solar city doesn't seem to have a lock on this market yet... still warm without the heat outside here.. but not for long!! joe
