I've noticed trends too. A LOT more rain than when I was young. No rain flooding ever 40 years ago but now at least 2 or 3 times a year storm floods that close roads and even traintracks. More snow too. It can't snow when it's real cold.

LOL It's more a symbol of NYC or me than the team, But I work in a chem R&D lab and it's a refreshing change to find somebody who understands as opposed to all the denial from the deniers who seem to be only interested in the politics and have no idea about the science.

Hey, finally somebody on this forum who understands the physics and chemistry of air pollution and human population. A refreshing change. :-)

Next time I'm going to be better prepared to do some stealth camping. I just bought a green tent to replace my orange one, a camouflage bivy sack and I'm going to get a small light hammock also. I've been watching stealth camping videos on Youtube. Here are some touring links that might interest you. http://www.adventurecycling.org/ www.bicycletouringpro.com/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/BicycleTouringWebsites/

I'm sure I have done a lot years ago and didn't keep track but the last time I know was in 2012. I rode 106 across the LA area, riding all knight. It wasn't planed but I had no place to stay.

I took the train North for my west Coast ride so that I would be traveling with the prevailing winds and also so I was riding on the ocean side. I'm going to have to research for upcoming rides wanting to avoid tornadoes, lightning, hale, headwinds and extreme hot and cold. I rode by myself on my own schedule about 50-60 miles per day which is average and would see the same people in camp every knight.

It's mostly flat in my area but windy so I can rack up the miles. I rode the west coast in 2012 by taking a train to Seattle then North to the border and South to San Diego. It took about 2 months and I camped. I'm hoping to ride across the US and back, maybe soon.
