Hi e-squirrel, I am having trouble deciding if you like or dislike the Volt. I personally have a 2014 Volt, and a 2014 Cad ELR. I think they are fantastic cars, the ELR is quite a bit up scale, but the volt is also a very good car. My wife drives the volt pat of the time and isn't real good at getting good mileage out of it. But since we bought it a year ago, it has averaged over 85 mpg by the computer. She does a lot of shopping which takes her out of the 40 mile range too much . Even so we would not trade it for any other car. Now the Caddy. I bought it about 4 months ago when caddy dealers had a big sale of over $15,000 and with the other rebates and discounts , it turned out pretty reasonable. That ELR is fantastic. I constantly get about 50 RV miles on it, and since the middle of July, I have bought not $0.10 worth of gas , in close to 2000 miles around here. Gas bill went from about $400 a month to about $100. Most of that goes into my zero turn lawn mower. I truly love both o

My response to your posting on US company flushing Japanese water system: E-Squirrel: good one. Answer is: Apparently not… So many posters can't see the gas pump in front of their faces. Let's be buds. CP, Santa Barbara.

Watch out for the gas price increases. I started to warn everyone as quick as I could last week before they started to trend up again. We're up by 32 cents a gallon at quite a few stations now since last Sunday. The 2nd round of increases started yesterday as I had expected, still ongoing today. The 3rd is coming up, here and most everywhere.

"Cheap electricity is being phased out in favor or more expensive "alternative" energy, as matter of both state and federal policy. If electric cars ever became really popular, the demand and prices for electricity would be so high that you would wish you had a gasoline model." That is SO TRUE!!! That's only the beginning though. Just wait until a loaf of bread or a dozen eggs is $5 or more, and it's going there.
