How come you are so smart to see what is going on with the pipeline politics and the others just want to go on with it? Keep up the good comments!

The Phillips 66 brand name goes back to 1927, where the first Phillips 66 gas station was built in Wichita, Kansas. A local historical society has preserved it to this day, I used to live in Wichita (along with most places in the Central Time Zone with a big aerospace emphasis, namely Huntsville, AL and Abilene, TX) and I remember seeing the Phillips 66 station but I never toured it.

The process licensing part of Union Oil Company of California, later Unocal, was sold to Universal Oil Products (UOP) of Des Plaines, IL. That covers chem plant and refinery process licensing - - and the associated proprietary catalysts - - and is still actively licensing today. The creation, expansion and perturbations of UOP is a whole other saga in and of itself.

No, haven't seen your clone since that day at McDonald's. I haven't been there since, tho, so...maybe he has, I just haven't seen him. I think you should stop in there sometime, around 1pm, on a weekday, and see if you run into him!

FWIW, NIssan Motor ended up with "nissanusa.com" but some people on here would likely think they should be "nissanjap.com" instead. Nissan Motor Manufacturing USA is more American than Government Motors is.

Also, they learned that ENCO could not be used in Texas because there was already another company named ENCO that had registered the name first. The guy who ran the company that registered the name first (IIRC, his initials were "EN") said it probably would have been cheaper for Humble to buy him out than to change everything. A similar squabble happened between Nissan Computer (after the name of the founder) and Nissan Motor (their name, IIRC, is a contraction of "Japan Industries"). Nissan Computer ended up with nissan.com and Nissan Motor had to have some other web domain that was longer.
