Oh yes, Toyota was definitely overdue to update the design of the RAV4. My son-in-law has a 2014 and loves it (upgraded from 2008). I wish I could afford a new one. I would also be interested in a Subaru Forester or Outback. I have driven a Honda or a Toyota since 1990 and couldn't be more pleased. I drove my 1997 Honda Civic for 11 years.

I found your post on the global sales race interesting. We are influenced by our own experience. I would be sad to see Toyota's quality diminish. I have had no problems with 2 (I presently have a 2008 RAV4). I would love fun, fast and frugal to an extent. Absolutely cost is a factor for me. And actually I'm not a speed demon but I surely don't 'poke along' as many my age do. Your auto is beautiful . . . would you be open to being buddies?

you're so right about the passport hassle to Canada. I was raised in a border town and it was nothing for me to go to Detroit with a driver's licence. A different world since 9/11!

saw your post "I've done this, but because the app pulls prices from an area around you in all directions, a lot of the times the information is irrelevant because I don't want to double back and drive 20 miles to save 10¢ . I wish that it could detect my direction of travel, or what road I was on, and emphasize stuff along the route over outliers." 1. you can look at the map view and it will show you any stations wherever you scroll the map. 2. i just tried the trip calculator for a trip i have taken multiple times. the trip calculator allows many advanced options such as a slider between fewer stops and cheaper prices and all sorts of options including setting a year make and model of vehicle and gas mileage. i am definitely going to try it on my next long road trip.
