2 longs and a short

1 long (very long) was for the party news, can't remember but was 11 to 14 on our line, usually around noon, sometimes at night, but rarely.

Good Morning this Fine Monday Morning, the 1st FULL day of Winter...

Yea, Teacher Tim, 911 and I guess fax machines and modems (any one remember those)...

MM, probably not... Guess if phone tower goes out LOL We actually have uverse so our phone is actually over IP now anyway. We get the internet, tv (Cable) and phone pretty cheap, but our contract up and just tired of having to call up and tell them I'm leaving... Stupid fee for having phone is $10 a month... even after bickering price down...
\
Anyone have comcast??? and what IP speed do you ACTUALLY get? Touting 50Mbs download speed.... I get 7 (paying for 6)....

Yes, 911 location tracking, phone service when the power has been out long enough to run down your cell phone battery, and I've never misplaced the phone on the wall in the kitchen, lol.

I do keep minimum service on it though, and make long distance calls on cell or Skype.

We get together with our childrem and my bride's younger sister who live in village jst a little north of us. She does most the cooking Christmas.. My bride bought a turkey at Thanksgiving (last year Turkeys were not as abundant).

One nephew is out of country, and our middle son has to work (odd, but it's true)....

Just curious if anyone has gone with vonage for phone service????
Have been attempting to lower my utilities and since my wife insists on watching all the tv looking at dropping phone and getting vonage... Looks like the vonage would save me $10 / month... and still give us a home number... Thanks for your input...

mexicomaria, when I first read your post, thought you were talking about mince meat ON lefse!

Then I saw you were talking about them separately.

But the more I thought of it, mince meat ON lefse sounds wonderful!

I may have to try it!

;-)

SE, I am with you on rutabagas!

There is a family Christmas tradition of "rutamousse".

It is a combination of mashed rutabagas and mashed potatoes.

A TERRIBLE waste of perfectly good mashed potatoes, in my book!

But then I don't like lutefisk either.

;-)

God day, Everyone.

My family when I was little and in high school was oyster stew on Christmas Eve. What are your Christmas Eve traditions. Christmas day was Turkey and Ham and all the fixin'. I love MinceMeat pie on Christmas, lefse, and you can keep the lutefisk to yourself. I go to the Dinners to eat Swedish Meatballs and rutabagas. What I really love is family gathered to laugh, eat, play cards and pray together. Grand Family time.

"Pickled tongue is a delicacy and should be enjoyed and savored like a fine wine."

.....

Both of us having been farm raised, grew up with beef heart, calves/pig liver, tongue, chicken liver, gizzards and heart and still very much enjoy them today as most all rural grocery stores stock.

While we eat any/all cuts of meat and viscera we still prefer game meat from waterfowl to javelina.

Good Morning, Every Buddy!

All the talk of tongue reminds me of the story of the Jewish woman who went into her deli and ordered a pound of tongue.

While the butcher was packaging it, she asked him, "What is that actually made of? It is SO good!"

"Well, ma'am, it's tongue."

"Oh I KNOW that! But what is it made of?", she asked.

"Well, it's the tongue out of a cow."

"WHAT?!!! The actual TONGUE out of a cow?!!"

"Yes, ma'am."

"I would NEVER eat anything that has been in a cow's MOUTH!!! Give me a dozen eggs instead!!"

Good morning. I had tongue at a wedding reception 46 years ago, when the groom's mom said, "you have to try this" and then she shoved a slice into my mouth. Bleeech.

Good morning. The windshields have a 'dusting' of snow on them this 29 degree morning. So far we've been dodging most of the snow bullets, except for a surprise three inches last month.

Late evening....

My wife and I were fortunate to travel to Rome as an awards trip for company I worked for... It was grueling travel and my wife has trouble sleeping on plane, and this was 1st time she had ever been out of country (over seas)... of course delays made the trip even worse, and she worried about the young kids with Grandma (lol should have worried for grandma)... .. We had not eaten for hours and so my wife and I were grabbing food from waiters serving Hors d'oeuvre and since some of staff did not know english we just went from what we thought things were. A couple I had know from another area I was introducing my wife to commented " oh you like beef toungue... that looks good"... I could see my bride stare at the thing and there was no way it would ever cross her lips... It suddenly got over to my plate as we mingled... (it was a little tough)...

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend ...

Troller Diesel, "jd, isn't kind of sad though, that the arrogant <insert inappropriate word here> is "offended" by being considered to be one of the "help?""

I have been asked by people to help get stuff off a higher shelf. Or more often, I have OFFERED.

And even worse, Michelle apparently WASN'T offended at the time. She thought it was funny.

But NOW she has to make it into a racist thing.

A liberal interviewer asks her about how tough life has been for her being black and she MUST have had all kinds of racial attacks against her.

So she has to think quick and the only thing she can come up with is the NON-racial Target story. Which she QUICKLY makes into a RACIST thing.

These people are despicable.

As I have said so often, liberals are among the few true RACISTS still around!

SMH

OK back to more positive non-liberal things.

thanks to A1 for this link which I didn't have == at about the 4:40 mark of this video, you can see what Michelle Obama told back in March of 2012 about her Target shopping experience, umm, she either lied back then or is telling a big lie this week about racial slams against her while shopping at Target when she said she was treated like "one of the help" - You be the judge.

Good Morning, Every Buddy!

Keep those prices falling, SE.

What is it that liberals have told us for years?

-Drilling won't help~!

-Even if we drill, it will be 10/20/30 years before we get any oil.

-It's a 'world market'. Even if we drill, the oil will just go someplace else.

-Oil is evil.

-We need HIGHER oil prices so that wind and solar are 'more affordable'.

-We need to put HIGHER TAXES on evil oil.

Well, like another BRILLIANT LEADER who the libs love to hate said, DRILL BABY DRILL!!!!

Liberals once again have proved how totally WRONG they are.

And how CLUELESS they are.
