Let's try to keep track of where Pres. Obama is on any given day....while the world falls apart.

You can also guess what he and John Kerry are doing about anything on any given day.

Let's provide a tinyurl.
I've not been very successful at the GB insert link feature.
I like to use it when it's available.President Obama went to North Carolina today. And Kay Hagan had to walk a tightrope.
http://tinyurl.com/m6gfsel

Obama's approval rating is a paltry 45 percent in North Carolina, according to a recent USA Today/Suffolk University survey, which showed Hagan and Tillis neck and neck. Moderate voters in the state -- which went for Mitt Romney in 2012 -- have grown increasingly hostile toward the president. The state's most conservative quarters have long been motivated to shut down Obama's agenda by tossing Hagan out. Providing any fuel to power attack ads dubbing her a pawn for Obama -- that's something Hagan just can't afford to do.

"So every time an American dies overseas, the President should be in mourning? That is simply not realistic."

Weaslespit, I think the conversation was about Mr. Foley...

Lets look at the transcript....

Transcript: President Obama’s remarks on the execution of journalist James Foley by Islamic State

"Today, the American people will all say a prayer for those who loved Jim. All of us feel the ache of his absence. All of us morn his loss. We keep in our prayers those other Americans who are separated from their families. And we will do everything that we can to protect our people and the timeless values that we stand for. May God bless and keep Jim’s memory. And may God bless the United States of America."

**** All of us morn his loss. *****

So Weasle, you think President was grieving the loss of that reporter, or does he have some staff members that do that for him ????

Or maybe he was grieving that he had to push back his bloody tee time.

As the 4,000 + us troops died and 100,000 were wounded during the Bush/Cheney war , Bush spent 350 + days on his ranch and sailing in Maine .

Not a peep from the self righteous right.

So every time an American dies overseas, the President should be in mourning? That is simply not realistic. I find it interesting that your reaction can be different than Obama's. Where does the double-standard end? Vice-President? Congress?

"He might as well gone to a square dance."

If that is something he enjoys. Sure. Or caught a Nationals baseball game, or shot skeet or...

I am actually not the leader of the free world....where appearances are next in line to what you say and do. He has no common sense. I was stunned that that would happen to a man doing his job as a world reporter...he was not fighting, he was basically innocent bystander...just like all the other innocence ISIS murdered.

He might as well gone to a square dance.

"Very poor taste in my mouth, when Pres. Obama gives this sorrowful speech on the beheading of James Foley and gets right on a plane and goes golfing. Has he no common sense at all?"

So what did you do with your day after hearing said news? Sit in mourning all day?

The US did the right thing - we did not negotiate with terrorists... but keep focusing on the small, inane details to satisfy your need to denigrate the President.

Well, I think he knows to use a pitching wedge if he's in a bunker, use a 5-iron on a short approach, and if a thunderstorm approaches just stand in the middle of the fairway and hold a 1-iron above your head.

"He was a bartender-weasel who snuck the recording, as I already said. Nice try at deflection, though."

That is another method.

Still deflecting from the original point - why is it the press' First Amdendment Right to gain access to a private function?

"Maybe not illegal, but certainly frowned upon."

Only because it outed your candidate as a liar and finally showed his true face...

>>>...all he has to do is pay for the seat at the table...<<< - ummmm, the dude who clipped the Mitt Romney private-event speech most certainly did NOT pay for a seat at the table. He was a bartender-weasel who snuck the recording, as I already said. Nice try at deflection, though.

"Free Speech" is a concept unto itself, and has nothing to do with surreptitious recordings. Was it illegal to record at a private event? Maybe not illegal, but certainly frowned upon.

"LOL Weasel, how about the taping and monitoring our allies private conversations..."

Apples-to-oranges comparison. You went for the extreme (ie National Security snooping) - the discussion is simply a private fund raiser that for some reason some feel should be open to the press under the 'freedom of speech'.

"Obama had no problem there..Transparency only goes so far...."

Apparently neither did Bush;

"New details about the monitoring of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s cellphone by the National Security Agency further stoked the German government’s anger on Sunday and raised two questions: Why did the United States target her as early as 2002, and why did it take five years for the Obama administration to put a halt to the surveillance?"

Data Suggests Push to Spy on Merkel Dates to ’02

But who ended it?

The National Security Agency ended a program used to spy on German Chancellor Angela Merkel and a number of other world leaders after an internal Obama administration review started this summer revealed to the White House the existence of the operation, U.S. officials said.

"Ever since some dem operative snuck a recording of a private event where Mitt Romney spoke, and made a mention of about 47% who would continue to vote for a living, as it is easier than working for a living........in case you failed to remember. (you did)"

Methinks you are once again narrow in your view of said event. If an GOP'er wants to 'sneak' into a Democratic fund raiser to see what said candidate is 'really' saying and 'truly' believes, all he has to do is pay for the seat at the table as you indicate happened when Romney was caught exposing his actual beliefs... Strange how Obama and Hillary are identified as liars by the Right, yet get mad at the person who outed Romney as such. ;)

That being said, you didn't answer the question;

Since when does free speech mean access to private functions by the media?'

Poroshenko was to hold talks with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office later Thursday, a meeting that sends a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the West's support for Ukraine.
I like the comment from the end of the snippet... "WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States will provide $46 million in new security assistance to the Ukraine's military, but stop short of fulfilling an urgent request from Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko for lethal aid to help his country fight against Russian-backed separatists.

Poroshenko pleaded his case during remarks Thursday to a rare joint meeting of Congress. While he thanked the U.S. for the nonlethal equipment it is providing his country's beleaguered military, he said more was needed to stop the provocations near the Russian border.

"Blankets and night vision goggles are important, but one cannot win a war with a blanket," he said during a 40-minute address that was repeatedly interrupted by applause from lawmakers."
Should be interesting to see what other actions (if any) are taken...

Oh, yea.... another DNC fundraiser; Washington

Now, back to the subject... where is President Obama....

Ebola and ISIS tour: President Barack Obama leaves today on a two-day U.S. road trip to assess and amplify the administration's response to two unconnected overseas emergencies: the Ebola outbreak in Africa and Islamic terrorists in Iraq and Syria.

"Obama will be in Atlanta at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention later today to announce significant new U.S. efforts to combat the Ebola epidemic, which has moved quickly across western Africa. The plan includes new military assistance to the region and an increase in trained medical professionals sent to help. Tomorrow, Obama heads to Tampa, Florida, to assess his mission against ISIS at U.S. Central Command."

Not surprisingly, the GOP voted against campaign spending limits;

The Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United v. FEC essentially held that spending money on election ads is a form of free speech, and thus there's little Congress can do to limit it. In contrast, direct donations to political candidates could remain regulated and restricted. This created an incentive for moneyed groups and individuals to affect elections by spending on their own election ads rather than donating to candidates or parties.

Obama Checks Stonehenge Off His Bucket List

"After a grueling week of foreign policy crises that must have often seemed like trying to push boulders up a mountain, President Obama took a surprise detour on the way home. Marine One flew him halfway across England so he could walk amid the mysterious and awe-inspiring boulders of Stonehenge.

"Spectacular" he kept saying.

The president walked alone amid the towering slabs at sunset, humbled.

"How cool is this?" he asked.

The ring of stones have been dated back to before 2000 BC, with few clues as to how prehistoric hands were able to move them into their circular setting.

Clouds made the scene appear somewhat haunting, and most tourists seemed to be kept away, giving the president a few moments of peace. He expressed surprise that Stonehenge was smaller than it appeared as he flew in.

Before he turned to go, President Obama sounded satisfied.

"Knocked this off my bucket list," he said."
