Transgender bill now CA law

"Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown announced Monday that he had signed AB1266 – seen as a landmark decision for transgender Americans. The new law gives students the right “to participate in sex-segregated programs, activities and facilities” based on their self-perception and regardless of their birth gender."

Wait till you read some of the comments....lots of unhappy people.

and is it here in LaLa land, or is it in Florida, I forgot, but heard this on the news - a male is running for prom queen at his high school. It would be funny if "he" was elected.

I wonder how the "girls" are going to like sharing space and gym lockers with someone who is anatomically NOT female?

Gidzmo, most churches are 501c3 which means they have been tricked into becoming a charity and therefore may have a fight on their hands.

Hey, the majority voted in what they got...seems to me they must rather like it that way or they'd be doing something about it so I'd think they're pretty much getting what they asked for.

25 years since the last time we were in California...vowed back then we'd never be back and we don't miss it one iota.

Parents should just keep their kids out of the school activities and form leagues and clubs outside of the school district. Most youth sports around here are outside of school, with pee wee football, little league baseball, swim club swim leagues, etc.
We also have science and nature programs based at local private (or public park district) facilities, a theater group, and a youth orchestra al outside of any school district.

Get creative, California parents!

And sgm, it sound like it's "half" nuts and half not!

All Gary schools were that way in the 60's. Something to do with swim suits holding bactria.

Streetrider, what school was that? Never heard of any such school.

In the meantime, one Assemblyman (Donnelly) is pulling at least one of his sons (and possibly all three) out of the public schools.

"yet another reason TO STAY AWAY FROM CALIFORNIA"

Cool. You won't be missed. What you will miss is probably some of the best scenic drives anywhere in this country. Enjoy your time in Philly.

All I know is the boys and girls swim team practiced in the nude having the door locked to the oppsite gender at the school I went to. I got to tell you as a teenage boy I definitely would have joined the girls swim team.

Me: "According to legislation that has yet to be introduced, it's either promote the new agenda or lose the tax-exempt status."

Jayrad: "If the legislation has yet to be introduced, how do you know about the tax-exempt status?"

Christian schools are either run by a church or affiliated with a church. Churches have tax-exempt status.

I'll keep searching for details on the proposed legislation.

I don’t understand what is going on. In California and Massachusetts we have school kids being forced to share bathrooms, locker rooms and showers with people of the opposite sex. If a normal child is uncomfortable to bad.

Then in Detroit we have a police chief who is losing his job because he inadvertently sent out an E-mail that he didn’t relies had the female officer’s bra sizes in it.

To make it simple the government is going to force my daughter to accept the idea of an 18 year old man in the show room with her but accidently releasing the bra sizes of women is a termination offence.

Where’s the sanity in all of this?

I don't suppose there's a link to a source for the legislation yet to be introduced, since it hasn't been introduced yet. Still, if it is introduced and if it becomes law, will Christian schools adhere to their principles or bow to the god of money? It all depends on what they value more... Christian principles or tax-exempt status.

Unfortunately, Popcorn, the state (not being satisfied with a politically-correct curriculum) is apparently now taking aim at the Christian schools. According to legislation that has yet to be introduced, it's either promote the new agenda or lose the tax-exempt status.

This is liberalism in its finest.

Men are going to be forced to face the fish so we will be gender neutral.
