I realized how SHOCKED everyone is by this fact, lol. Should such things kill the bill?

"Buried within the 844 pages of the bipartisan immigration bill -- amid historic shifts in policies such as a path to citizenship for 11 million unauthorized immigrants -- are pet provisions of the senators who crafted it.

South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham wants more visas for the meat industry, a major employer in his state. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., pushed for special treatment for Irish workers; his state is home to a large population with Irish ancestry.

Republican Sen. Marco Rubio sought help for the cruise-ship industry, a big business in his home state of Florida. And Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado wove in a boost for ski areas."Read more:

At least the greed is bipartisan...

"A path to citizenship" = AMNESTY.

The bill should be killed based on its own merits.

What we need is to give the President the power of line-item veto. He can veto any single provision of any bill sent for his signature. It holds him accountable if he signs it and it holds the Congress accountable if they override his veto. Government accountablity, it'll NEVER happen.

This is how pork gets done as it would never pass on its own merits. It is also a bribery tool to get a politician on board to vote a certain way.

They will never vote to police themselves, its business as usual under the Capitol roof. They feel they have to siphon tax payer Dollars to their home States to justify their existence.

Think about how many Billion Harry Reid has sucked out of our pockets which winds up in a Las Vegas development project!

If it isn't doesn't provide a logical benefit to every taxpayer it should be stripped out.

They really should make this illegal. Our law passing system sucks and has turned into nothing more than a money grab for many lawmakers from both sides.

And instead of "No Irish need apply" we have "MORE Irish..."

Remember the classic scene in Casablanca where the Rick's Cafe Americain is closed down:
"Rick: How can you close me up? On what grounds?
Captain Renault: I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!
[a croupier hands Renault a pile of money]
Croupier: Your winnings, sir.
Captain Renault: Oh, thank you very much.

Captain Renault: Everybody out at once!"

link to film clip. You owe it to yourself if you've never watched this movie.

Tim, "more visas for the meat industry", this no doubt is in pork processing plants at a time of high unemployment in this state. Rubio, probably got considerable support from the cruise industry. And lastly a dem going to bat for the ski industry in his state, oh well. Politicians have no shame, shock, shock.
