Paxy so your saying that with the acceptance of rights no responsibility is part of the equation?
The pay could take many forms - its the concept I'm getting at. Some have paid the highest price of all to maintain and protect the rights we now have.

"BUT all people who are legal citizens of the United States, are of the correct age and have not lost their right to vote due to criminal conduct or certified mental defect should never have their right to vote infringed. EVER!!!!!"
Well said and a very simple concept. Why is that SO difficult for some here to understand?

"You have the right to vote maybe"
Maybe? Maybe there is the right to bear arms? Maybe there is the freedom of speech, assembly, press, to chose our own religion?
Maybe this is a silly topic talking about restricting voting rights for those on public assistance.

SGM how does the concept of right beng balanced by responsibilities go with the concept of if you dont pay to run the govt you shouldnt have a say in how its run.
You have the right to vote maybe - but you also have the responsibility to pay for what you vote for.
We all have the rights as citizens here - but citizens also have responsibilities and duties that are equal to the rights they have.
What is your take on that idea?

I’m against convicted felons voting, I am against people voting twice, I am against illegal aliens voting and I am against people voting outside their place of residence. The dead and dogs also should never vote either. I am also in favor of voter I.D.
BUT all people who are legal citizens of the United States, are of the correct age and have not lost their right to vote due to criminal conduct or certified mental defect should never have their right to vote infringed. EVER!!!!!

Sure. Nobody can ever place any restrictions on the right to bear arms, heaven forbid, but oh, yeah, screw the constitution when it comes to letting "those people" --whoever you think the poor are-- vote.
