As for RATING the listed presidents, the only three worth rating are Washington, Andrew Jackson, and Ronald Reagan. It is a crying shame that this board does not have text formatting capabilities.

Lincoln is rated lower due to his failure to abide by the law, i.e. the Federal Constitution. What most people do not realize is the Emancipation Proclamation was not legal. Another interesting note is the common myth that the Federal Constitution allowed slavery. It did not; it was specifically designed to slowly eliminate slavery. However, for this to work required statesmen of good intelligence and a citizenry of thinkers. The Founding Fathers over-estimated their posterity.

01. Obama -- 7 - Mostly for not getting things done that needed to be done, but had nobody from the other side of the isle to help. 02. Bush Jr. -- 6 - With 9/11 his presidency didn't start off well, and with the economy tanking, it didn't end well. 03. Clinton -- 9 - The man did a great job as president, too bad he couldn't have gotten through without scandal. 04. Bush Sr. -- 8 - Made Iraq pay for attacking Kuwait. Maybe should have done more, though, and got beat by Clinton. 05. Reagan -- 9 - Forget doubling the deficit, Iran-Contra, raising taxes. The man could run a country. 06. Carter -- 5 - And this is generous. 07. T. Roosevelt -- 8 - A Republican progressive. We have safer food because of his laws. 08. JFK -- 9 - Bay of Pigs, handling of Israel, Iraq, Cuba, and domestic policy advanced our country. 09. A. Jackson -- 8 - Last president to have no debt. 10. Grant -- 8 Finished what lincoln started. 11. Lincoln -- 10 - Everyone knows his accomplishments. Not a perfect president, but as darn close as it comes. 12. Washington -- 10 - A great president to get the country started.
