Oilpan4,
Those symptoms can be caused by contact with Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) also. I wonder if he gets out much. That stuff occurs naturally in mushrooms.
Just kidding Steve. ;-)

"oil, it is a liberal thought process that is so flawed"
There is a disorder (cant remember the name of it) where the person believes an inanimate object has human characteristics (like being evil), having some kind of power, an effect or some influence over them selves or other people. Semisteve exhibits this disorder on a very regular basis.

All it takes is a few emotional people to make irrational decisions.

AFSNCO, no, of course not, drugs are perfectly safe, it's contact with an inanimate object made of steel, wood and plastic!

You know, the anti gun crowd wants to blame the object - guns - no matter what. However if they want to curb VIOLENCE, then they need to look at the bigger picture. Mental illness, and getting the mentally ill to be treated is how they ought to attack the problem.
And yes, anti-depressants may very well cause problems and unusual thoughts in some people. Folks who are mentally ill need to be monitored.

oil, it is a liberal thought process that is so flawed. It is always someone else's fault and it is easier to blame a gun than a person. Of course they do not blame a car for drunk drivers though which is interesting.

greentre, I brought that up a while ago. I only found it out on my own though and did not see this article. I was researching all the people that had committed the mass shootings and the one common denominator I found was depression and mind altering drugs. My question about 2 weeks ago was whether these drugs cause people to lose touch with the real world!

"Maybe it is the guns".
You belive guns have more effect on a persons behavior than the drugs they take?

Prozac Suicide Warning Prozac is one of the few antidepressants approved for the treatment of depression in youths. Unfortunately, however, studies on children have linked the drug to increased suicidal thoughts and behavior. As a result, the FDA issued a public warning in October 2004, and two years later extended the advisory to include young adults as old as 24. In 2007, the FDA took an even stronger stance. The agency required antidepressant manufacturers to update existing black-box warnings about the increased risks of suicidal thoughts and behavior during initial treatment, which the FDA defined as the first one to two months. An FDA black-box warning is the most stringent precaution a drug can carry before it is pulled from the shelves. It takes its name from the black border that surrounds the warning information on the drug’s packaging. The agency often requires pharmaceutical companies to include a bold warning on drug packaging and patient instruction sheets if serious or life-threatening risks are associated with the drug’s use.
One of the other side effects is aggression; so if a person is taking a moderately high dose wouldn't they be a risk factor for "murder/suicide"? Like many of the mass killings?

Absolutely!! Biden and his task force should be talking about this and not about how to ban guns.

Yikes! Makes you wonder about the adults around you, too. These meds usually affect teens differently or more than adults.
