Although tragic and thankful that no one ended up dead there are more differences then similarities to compare this shooting to Aurora.
Aurora- 1 Crazy person out to kill as many as possible, A gunman, dressed in tactical clothing, set off tear gas grenades and shot into the audience with multiple firearms, killing 12 people and injuring 58 others
Texas- 1 man looking to kill his ex-girlfriend Taken down by a off duty officer working security (Marty says he is fine with military and police with guns)
-------- Similar fears= yes similar actions and outcomes no.

You are correct jeskibuff, I think MiddletownMarty is so anti-gun that he does not see the difference in outcome between the two situations. Especially the fact that the anti-gun news mainstream media refuses to provide coverage for the San Antonio shooting because it provides an reasonable comparison case as to why armed law abiding citizens work.

Yep... just like Aurora... plus a restaurant."
So I take it by your sarcastic remark that you fail to see the irony in your own words. Can you NOT see what the difference is here?

Seems to me a trained deputy with a gun working at the theatre isn't just any old somebody carrying a gun, she is a law enforcement professional. I encourage that level of security.

as of 2011 I live in the 5th highest state for murder and you dont hear about that nationally, however each day I watch the news and its always 1 or 2 shootings in the upstate here. NATIONWIDE MURDER RATES
-------- with a rate of 6.8 per every 100,000 = population of over 4,600,000 - thats a whole lot that dont get reported nationally.
