3 more fiscal cliffs loom

>>NEW YORK (CNNMoney)

Think the fiscal cliff caused an awful lot of uncertainty and held back the economy? How about three more cliff-like deadlines over the next three months?

That's what's in store. The bill approved by the House late Tuesday doesn't address the debt ceiling and temporarily puts off most of the automatic spending cuts otherwise scheduled to take effect Wednesday.

Here is what's still ahead:

1. Debt Ceiling . . .

2. Sequester . . .

3. Continuing Budget Resolution . . .<<

Extraordinary measures become standard as US hits debt limit again

By Peter Schroeder

“The latest numbers from the Treasury Department indicate that the overall debt of the United States swelled by about $300 billion during the period of the suspension, and now totals roughly $16.7 trillion.”

Will that slow down the increase in Obama's spending of our tax dollars?

In case you may have missed it but the Congress raises the cash and spends the cash.

The president can only agree to or veto spending bills.

At least that was the way it worked as of yesterday.

We appear to have crashed through the debt ceiling. Will that slow down the increase in Obama's spending of our tax dollars?

Have you heard anything about us crashing through the debt ceiling today in the media?

Sequester cuts: $24.6 billion

2013 tax increases: $63.7 billion

Is that what Obama calls a level playing field?

But with respect to future debt; would it not be wise and just for that nation to declare in the constitution they are forming that neither the legislature, nor the nation itself can validly contract more debt, than they may pay within their own age, or within the term of 19 years.

Topic: Email tells feds to make sequester as painful as promised

>>The White House announced Tuesday that it is canceling tours of the president’s home for the foreseeable future as the sequester spending cuts begin to bite and the administration makes good on its warnings of painful decisions.

Announcement of the decision — made in an email from the White House Visitors Office — came hours after The Washington Times reported on another administration email that seemed to show at least one agency has been instructed to make sure the cuts are as painful as President Obama promised they would be . . .<<

Yes, the continuing resolution will be the "biggie". The sequester is a reduction in the INCREASE on spending for next fiscal year. It won't make that much difference until September. Anyone who is crying "Wolf!" is assuming that there are not ample department funds to shuffle to cover expenses. There are.

>>The continuing resolution will be the "biggie".<<

You sure about that? When do you think that is going to happen? Would it contain spending cuts or tax increases? Will we continue to spend more each year than what comes into the government coffers?
