Whether you were for Romney, Obama or none of the above, don't feel bad. Realize that there was no difference between them. There is only 1 issue. That is big oil money and power. EVERYTHING else is a smoke screen to make the dummy voters think that ANYTHING else mattered. Muslim-Smuslim Mormon-Shmormon Health care-smealth care . Remember that we will be in the same boat, no matter who got elected. 4.00 fuel.

speedster Liberals steal our money through social programs. Concervatives through the military. End result, our money is stolen. Pipeline, shmipeline, bottom line, big oil is running the world. We will see 4.00 fuel by next Memorial day unless we have a couple of nice refinery explosions, massive oil leaks or other "accidental" disasters, in which case it will be sooner.

Tatalah,

Do you not see any difference between the views of Big Oil by Obama and Romney? There are many differences. Romney would have allowed, for example, the pipeline from Canada to be built. I think gas prices would be much lower per gallon under Romney than Obama.

A majority of voters picked Obama. I along with many others was surprised at the victory margin. The country decided. If Obama's re-election has not demonstrated clearly enough how the country has changed then watching congressional republicans talk back to Grover Norquist should be further proof. A deal might be worked out with some tax increases and spending reductions. Here is the problem: Taxes will go up but deficit spending will continue taking us all down the path to ruin.

Well everyone is wrong at some point in their life, your time is now and were walking.
Differences
Romney knows how to balance a budget
Romney can grow the economy (yes) it can be done
Romney can create jobs outside of gov't and health care.
Romney created Healthcare in Mass. yes but there is a different size shoe for each stated. The U.S. is not aone size fits all society.
Romney=small fed gov't
Obama=big fed gov't
Social issues don't belong Washington they belong at the state level alongwith 2/3 of the crap that Washington wastes our money on.
But no themajority voted to change nothing not th ewhite house or washington so they get to deal with it.

I wouldn't bet on that. The last 4 years of utter disaster still has Obozo sycophants adoring him with drool running down their jowls. These moronic zombies wouldn't wake up to reality unless an atomic bomb went off in their homes - and then, only for the split second right before they died.

Hiram, sensible citizens know that the hate ObamaCare hype is just that. Hype.

It will not penalize as many companies as one may believe after all that hate hype.

Conclusion: Less than 0.2% of all employers may face employer responsibility requirements, i.e., buy insurance or pay a fine.

It does for a while, until the targets move their money out of range. We are going to see first hand over the next few years just how long it takes for the targets to get fed up take action. The decline in the stock market since the election is one indication that it might not take too long.

I was shopping at Dollar General yesterday. As I approached the checkout line a woman was in front of me talking to the cashier as he rang up her purchases. She said, "I'm so glad he got re-elected. Now everyone can get more money instead of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer." Bottom line: Class warfare works.

We won’t go socialist, or communist. UN helicopters are not on the way. And no one will be marrying the family dog

And THAT is the reality of the situation, except in the minds of those too badly brain damaged from extreme politicking.

But go ahead, run head first into that brick wall as often as you like. At least now, with Obamacare, you will get treatment.

"I believe it is a bad sign that Obama got re-elected."

That was my same feeling after Dubyah got re-elected in 2004. So, when Hurricane Katrina came I instinctively knew the reason why. The next message, of course, would have involved large numbers of people being turned into pillars of salt for the offense.

BTC1 got it right weeks ago. Stated then that Romney peaked too early. Obama was elected by a changing electorate. Doesn't mean it was the smart decision. Time will tell. It always does. I believe it is a bad sign that Obama got re-elected. The takers now out vote the producers.

I heard something interesting today on the radio. There were 10 million fewer votes for Obama in this election than there were for him four years ago. There were 2 million fewer votes for Romney than there were for McCain four years ago. 12 million voters apparently did not feel the need to vote in this year's election.

Big oil gets what big oil wants. Koch brothers greed knows no bounds.

Big tobacco used big money to sway public opinion for decades as it made a killing.

Big sugar has done the same thing. And now we are a nation of fatties and health care issues.

And so goeth big oil and big coal.

Heavily funded PR is behind all those TV spots talking about how we need to dig drill pump to create jobs. What a smoke screen. They are just trying to divert your attention away from climate change. It has worked. Fewer are concerned about climate change these days.

Super storm Sandy was a wake up call. There will be more. We ignore climate change at our own peril.

Green energy. Green jobs. That is our future. You can ignore TV spots but rising sea levels and stronger storms can not be ignored. How does it help to have cheap energy prices when we all must pay the cost of super storms like Sandy and Katrina?

A MESSAGE FROM THE QUEEN

To the citizens of the United States of America from Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

In light of your failure in recent years to nominate competent candidates for President of the USA and thus to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective immediately. (You should look up 'revocation' in the Oxford English Dictionary.)

Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths, and territories (except North Dakota, which she does not fancy).

Your new Prime Minister, David Cameron, will appoint a Governor for America without the need for further elections.

Congress and the Senate will be disbanded. A questionnaire may be circulated next year to determine whether any of you noticed.

To aid in the transition to a British Crown dependency, the following rules are introduced with immediate effect:

-----------------------

1. The letter 'U' will be reinstated in words such as 'colour,' 'favour,' 'labour' and 'neighbour.' Likewise, you will learn to spell 'doughnut' without skipping half the letters, and the suffix '-ize' will be replaced by the suffix '-ise.' Generally, you will be expected to raise your vocabulary to acceptable levels. (look up 'vocabulary').

------------------------

2. Using the same twenty-seven words interspersed with filler noises such as ''like' and 'you know' is an unacceptable and inefficient form of communication. There is no such thing as U.S. English. We will let Microsoft know on your behalf. The Microsoft spell-checker will be adjusted to take into account the reinstated letter 'u'' and the elimination of '-ize.'

-------------------

3. July 4th will no longer be celebrated as a holiday.

-----------------

4. You will learn to resolve personal issues without using guns, lawyers, or therapists. The fact that you need so many lawyers and therapists shows that you're not quite ready to be independent. Guns should only be used for shooting grouse. If you can't sort things out without suing someone or speaking to a therapist, then you're not ready to shoot grouse.

----------------------

5. Therefore, you will no longer be allowed to own or carry anything more dangerous than a vegetable peeler. Although a permit will be required if you wish to carry a vegetable peeler in public.

----------------------

6. All intersections will be replaced with roundabouts, and you will start driving on the left side with immediate effect. At the same time, you will go metric with immediate effect and without the benefit of conversion tables. Both roundabouts and metrication will help you understand the British sense of humour.

--------------------

7. The former USA will adopt UK prices on petrol (which you have been calling gasoline) of roughly $10/US gallon. Get used to it.

-------------------

8. You will learn to make real chips. Those things you call French fries are not real chips, and those things you insist on calling potato chips are properly called crisps. Real chips are thick cut, fried in animal fat, and dressed not with catsup but with vinegar.

-------------------

9. The cold, tasteless stuff you insist on calling beer is not actually beer at all. Henceforth, only proper British Bitter will be referred to as beer, and European brews of known and accepted provenance will be referred to as Lager. South African beer is also acceptable, as they are pound for pound the greatest sporting nation on earth and it can only be due to the beer. They are also part of the British Commonwealth - see what it did for them. American brands will be referred to as Near-Frozen Gnat's Urine, so that all can be sold without risk of further confusion.

---------------------

10. Hollywood will be required occasionally to cast English actors as good guys. Hollywood will also be required to cast English actors to play English characters. Watching Andie Macdowell attempt English dialect in Four Weddings and a Funeral was an experience akin to having one's ears removed with a cheese grater.

---------------------

11. You will cease playing American football. There is only one kind of proper football; you call it soccer. Those of you brave enough will, in time, be allowed to play rugby (which has some similarities to American football, but does not involve stopping for a rest every twenty seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour like a bunch of nancies).

---------------------

12. Further, you will stop playing baseball. It is not reasonable to host an event called the World Series for a game which is not played outside of America. Since only 2.1% of you are aware there is a world beyond your borders, your error is understandable. You will learn cricket, and we will let you face the South Africans first to take the sting out of their deliveries.

--------------------

13.. You must tell us who killed JFK. It's been driving us mad.

-----------------

14. An internal revenue agent (i.e. tax collector) from Her Majesty's Government will be with you shortly to ensure the acquisition of all monies due (backdated to 1776).

---------------

15. Daily Tea Time begins promptly at 4 p.m. with proper cups, with saucers, and never mugs, with high quality biscuits (cookies) and cakes; plus strawberries (with cream) when in season.

God Save the Queen!

They are not completely the same. At least Romney would have made the UN World Power take a little longer to take over. Obama will make it happen faster because he is definitely for Socialism & World Power. Obama wants us to depend on the government for our livelihood.

I never voted for that so I don't put much stock in it. Let the world develop its own emergency security force and let those who make their fortunes on the foreign legion operations of the US military find some other teat to milk for a change.

"can someone please tell me, why some are determined to weaken the military?"

It's a pacifist theory that if you lay down your arms, aggressors will no longer hate you and go away. This is patently false and dangerous. Aggressors take full advantage of the weak with valuable assets to forcefully conquer.

It may work for the Country of Lichtenstein but not the U.S.

Pacifists want to reduce U.S. defense because they feel a "war machine" is no longer necessary in modern society. What they fail to understand is that the U.S. is the World's emergency security force.

World history routinely repeats itself and hostile entities surface

With that said, I think we should no longer have ground uniformed ground troops in favor of stealth undercover operations.

"Do you wish that you could push us off the fiscal cliff sooner?"

Some folks still have plenty of money which can be taxed much more heavily than it is now -- just look at how some of them have so much mad money that they're willing to donate millions to favored candidates. Then there's all that money going to military spending now. Pare that WAY back. If that doesn't cure the financial problems then repudiate the so-called "free trade" agreements with China.

No big deal.

Like citygasman, I was distraught yesterday because I was hoping on a political change to halt the economic hemorrhaging. My sales are at 2009 "end of the World" levels even though I have diversified product offerings 3X since then. Doesn't matter, shoppers have been vanishing the past 9 months.

We had hoped to lease a storefront in 2013, that is now scrapped
We had hoped to add an employee in 2013 but now lack the spare cash flow

This isn't a result of the election, its the result of the state of the economy this year. $4 gasoline killed my consumer. I can't tell you how discouraging it is to work so hard and get nowhere.

We know the words and actions of obama, I have zero confidence he will change his politics of division and rotten attitude towards half of us. I have to prepare accordingly -- this IS the result of the election, and I suspect millions of small businesses are doing the exact same thing.

I feel sorry for those who will likely lose their jobs, I've been there twice in the past decade. I will survive because I am willing to work harder to stay afloat and cant get laid off from myself.

The average Obama voter assumes the economy is improving and that we are "half way to recovery and full employment". Too bad they don't understand what is really going on (but they soon will).

Ron Paul said it best yesterday when he slammed Obama's re-election for not changing Americans’ attitude about robust government spending:

“That is why people were sort of surprised with these conditions that the president could get reelected,” he said. “That is a bad sign in that there are more on the receiving end. People do not want anything cut. They want all the bailouts to come. They want the Fed to keep printing money. They do not believe we have gone off the cliff or are close."

We have bigger problems in this country than $4 a gallon gasoline.

Obama got everything he asked for in the last four years, except for Obama tax hikes.
It is just a matter of time before he gets them

I really think that the republicans should give them their wish and raise tax's

Whether you were for Romney, Obama or none of the above, don't feel bad. Realize that there was no difference between them. There is only 1 issue. That is big oil money and power. EVERYTHING else is a smoke screen to make the dummy voters think that ANYTHING else mattered. Muslim-Smuslim Mormon-Shmormon Health care-smealth care . Remember that we will be in the same boat, no matter who got elected. 4.00 fuel.

Practically speaking, we are in for very difficult times during Obama’s second term. ObamaCare is now here to stay. Obama is committed to raising the debt of the federal government to $20 trillion. The Republican-controlled House of Representatives will probably go along with this, as it did during Obama’s first term so the cost will be close to $1 trillion in interest payments every year. Everyone’s taxes will go up on New Year’s Day, as the Bush-era tax cuts will expire then. The progressive vision of a populace dependent on a central government and a European-style welfare state is now at hand. The country will get the government it deserves because this is what happens when the takers overwhelm the producers.

CityGasMan, taxaggedon is coming in January. The "tax-the-rich" inevitably trickles down to the middle class.

Expect a lot of buyers' remorse next April, along with demonization of the Republican House.

Those happy days for me will be when we have spending in line with revenue collection. How can we run a country like this for very long? We're not all that far away, economically speaking, from the PIIGS countries in Europe.

KatmanDo,

Why? Do you wish that you could push us off the fiscal cliff sooner?
