We'll see how long this one lasts. :D

edit: To the best of my understanding, this topic (or others like it) was supposed to act as a healthy, positive medium or equilibrium, if you will, between persons of different political and ideological backgrounds.

Something to lighten up the mood a little.

Not sure who moved this topic, but I'll bring it back.

Thursday night threw a little loop into the soup mix. The soup line was outside the church gym in the alley, because they were refinishing the gym floor. It was 32 degrees.

One of the homeless men came up to me and asked if we would be there next Thursday (which is coincidentally on Christmas day). Sadly, I had to tell him we would not. I said to him, if it were up to me, I think the soup kitchen should be open. After all, Thursday nights is our commitment. We feed the homeless on Thursday nights 52 weeks a year... that is, unless one of those Thursdays falls on Christmas. SMH

Awwwww sis, thank you! Much love right back at you. :-)

JD, Those families are truly blessed. you are and will be blessed for your work and selfless giving.

On Thursday night, it is difficult to go feed the homeless sometimes, but while I am there, and afterward, the feeling is very rewarding.

I thought of this idea yesterday.

I witness a person, with a huge smile at a thrift store, when they came across a pair of men's underwear still sealed in it's package. Wouldn't it be nice if we all chipped in, bought a few packages of different sizes of undies and donate them to our local thrift store or Salvation Army store. There's always other used clothes to be found, even bras, but undies are no where to be found.

Bless your ♥ 10 fold for reaching out to others, jdhelm!

Another way to help out the homeless is by getting involved with your local church in lending your time by serving others. I guarantee it will bring joy to your own heart, just like jdhelm has witness here, especially for those that feel so alone during this time of year.

Now that makes for a Merry Christmas

my better half (my wife) and I got that special feeling today by giving 3 families, Christmas gifts -
2 families got new tires and a battery each for their vehicles.
1 family got $5000 in home repairs made that they desperately needed for this coming winter's cold weather. They have a 20 month old and one due in March.
Being a secret Santa feels purty swell, but even more so to see them with a feeling of hope.

May the spirit of a Merry Christmas fill your heart to give with the love of all human kind.

We're also looking for a young man who is about 19, who left home and is thought to be in Texas, so we can get him a bus or plane ticket to get home over Christmas to his family who misses him so much. I'm sure he misses them too, but his pride is in the way.

Give to the "RED Kettle" if you see one. Also, if you see any homeless persons, remember they can use new warm clothes, meals and money. Also, many homeless are Vets, so please remember them in your Christmas thoughts.

James Taylor You've Got A Friend

It is the 8 track tape version, from soundcloud.com - no annoying commercial at the beginning. :-D

streetrider, you piqued my curiosity. The star character in the original Legs video I linked to was played by a relatively unknown Wendy Frazier. But I did find out what you were referring to. 23 years later, Carmen Electra danced (well, wriggled) with two other women to the song at a live ZZ Top performance in 2007.

Personally, those kinds of gals (Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra, etc.) are way too made up. I am much more attracted to a Natural Woman.

Just love the songs posted here! They go quite well with the 74 degrees
we are having here today in Virginia.

And to add icing to the cake, I saw the only white cabbage butterfly fluttering by.

Yea.. it doesn't get any better then this!
