We'll see how long this one lasts. :D

edit: To the best of my understanding, this topic (or others like it) was supposed to act as a healthy, positive medium or equilibrium, if you will, between persons of different political and ideological backgrounds.

Something to lighten up the mood a little.

Not sure who moved this topic, but I'll bring it back.

I'm glad you enjoyed the videos mini!
I only post the best on your thread, I'll have you know. ;)

Cup song in Irish or Gaelic or Gaeilge

My other favorite was the one Mexicomaria posted, with the little boy who had his heart poked by a pretty girl.

sis,

Those kids on skates were talented! Watched both videos.

That waterfall swing set is an ingenious idea.

Thanks! :)

Taco, those kiddies were adorable. Thanks. (The contrast of personality in the twin girls, at that young age, is something.)

So its some kinda bird that makes that mournful sound. Here all these years I thought it was the gas escaping those who ate too much of that spoiled fish you folks like - lutefisk I think its called by some folks...

Now this sounds much more betta you betcha.

"This morning grab a cup of coffee or tea and join me in the Adirondack chairs and we will listen to the loons....So with our tea this morning we will have pettifors. Wear your jammies if you want."

Those loon vocalizations are something. Truly unique. What a romantic experience that must be, brought to you and your hubby every day by God and Mudder Nature. And to think they're right outside your back door - most people have to travel north and go camping to experience that.

Every once in awhile, a lone northern loon will land on the beaver-dammed cattail pond here. (Yes, this far south in the summertime.) But I've never heard one making the evening mating call. The only northern bird sounds we get are the honks of Canada Geese.

Although not the same as a loon sound, we have beautiful red-winged blackbirds that provide a soothing sound across the water. They will stand balanced on the cattails and sing their trilled repertoire for hours.

Good morning... Other amazing day....Loons are nuts this morning. Nothing can sound more beautiful than loons... They vocalize in early morning and late evening.....I love it.

What amazing videos...of the beautiful side of man.

This morning grab a cup of coffee or tea and join me in the Adirondack chairs and we will listen to the loons.

Speaking of tea, havw you ever gone to a high tea? I went on

Mackinac Island in Michigan. You have to dress and be very proper (-; and eat pettifors , and listen to a string quartet. Use your raised little finger etiquette...and it is one for your bucket list.

So with our tea this morning we will have pettifors. Wear your jammies if you want.

Another nice Mackinac Island video.

Sis, I watched the first 33 minutes of that video about British Poor Houses last night before bed; I'll get to the rest of it as I can. Thanks for posting it.

As for the diner that gives random discounts to patrons who say grace before their meals, that is sweet. Sadly though, it did cross my mind that I wouldn't be surprised if somebody has already contacted the ACLU, and the next thing we'll read is that that diner is being accused of discrimination and unfair business practices.

Talking about Charlie Chaplin, look what I ran across unexpectedly.

The Horrific World of England's Workhouse (Full Documentary)

"More than 5,000,000 people died in these workhouses and the current estimate is that one in every ten has some kind of ties to those whose suffered in these slavery houses. Charles Chaplin was amongst one of them who pulled himself out of the gutter."
