This is an I love mini post.
I saw your note in the global warming topic, mini... Wow, did we lose a bright, intelligent libertarian/conservative man in this here little world. You will be missed, you brought intelligent debate to the table and not just chiding and name calling. I thank you for all I have learned from you on many topics...mainly the truth about global warming. I won't be fooled again on that topic.
I hope you drop in from time to time to let us know how your new endeavor is going....and how you are.....and to straighten out some thinking here. (-;
God bless you on your new endeavor. Prayers are with you.

This kid, Boyan Slat, loves the Ocean and has a plan to clean them up.
This photographer loves Northern Michigan (no Kid Rock boat rides in this one!).

Hey Fly,
Never got to ride a quarter all day so couldn't say about that pounding feeling. Course I never got to ride a Morgan at all, just worked around them. Love the way they walk and canter.

Maria, I love horseys also. My first field trip was in the 2nd grade, and they took us to a horse farm. They're majestic.
Wow, what a wet track yesterday. Congrats to Orb, rider Joel Rosario, trainer Shug McGaughey and the Phipps family.

btc1: mini, I see UK and Louisville going head to head all season. I would like to see a final with those two! LOL!
I'm kinda glad we're in different conferences. A final would be good, though. That'd be the cherry on top of Coach Pitino's career.

greentre - I rode two excellent trail horses that I used in the mountains of Colorado and Utah. One was a big Missouri Foxtrotter the other was a Morgan Tennessee Walker cross. Both of them could go all day and when you stepped out of the saddle you were feeling good. I rode Quarter horses only when nothing else was available. After the first ten miles of mountain trails every quarter horse I ever used rode hard and stiff legged. Kind of pounded your tush in the saddle. At the end of the day you had a sore back from them.

I love the beauty and grace of all horses, especially the Morgan's.
What can a Morgan do
All the draft horses are amazing in their size and pulling ability. My wife and I just got to see and meet a Percheron. Very impressive.
MexicoMaria, many of our friends out west had quarter horses, love them also. Wish we had some place to keep them and ride them.

Gotta love the Kentucky Derby....I have always loved horses. They know the way home, and they will go until their heart bursts. I had quarter horses myself, and one Welsh, but all horses, when you give them their head, they will find their way home, or she will find the finish line. What an animal! So beautiful... I mean look at these quarter horses....
Might I say here, I love hats....that you can get your best hat on while watching the beauty and strength of a horse is an added plus. When I went to a wedding in Scotland I got to wear a real hat.....why can't we do that more in USA.

Both teams should do well next year. Michigan keeps most players, and Louisville's starting lineup was not a wall of seniors (but we do lose Peyton Siva--and rumor has it we may not have Gorgi Djeng).
So, both teams will be contenders next year--lot's o' players coming back. Next year could be...

Having crow hot wings for supper. (-;
I have to say, when you look at Michigan Roster, ""We'll be back.""
Look at that little Spike Albrecht, 5'11" 170# Freshman. I think he was saying, "Where am I, and what am I doing." He was the kid no one wanted but some scout saw something in him.... Amazing little bumble bee, he could sting like a bee.
My favorite Cardinal is Siva....what a man!

It was a great game to watch. Outcome was in doubt until the last 20 seconds. Every time it seemed like Louisville was going to put them away Michigan came back.

congrats mini, nice group of guys. Didn't have any "favorite" and did root at times for the underdog, I enjoyed the competition and the play and think there was a tremondos tenacity displayed, including Siva. He was definitely the difference last night which is nice to see multiple atheletes stepping up and performing...
I think Michigan can be proud as well for acheiving what they did.

Yes they are, Taco. They are a bunch of humble young men. They are all class.
I am going to miss Peyton Siva (the Senior). He never gave credit to his own amazing ability, but always gave credit to God after every game, when interviewed.

Speedy, Thanks for the book recommendation. I went back and read your post, and, my hunch tells me that book recommendation wasn't the reason the topic was locked. Didn't that happen after you flooded the front page with topics one day last week? (And it looks to me like a personal attack was made against you.)
Feel free to post things you LOVE in this topic whenever you want.

I had one of my topics locked for posting the following link:
"Today, someone recommended to me that I read the book "Classified Woman." Anyone read it yet? I am told it is about an FBI interpreter that works as a language translator. She became a whistle blower after 9/11."
That quote apparently offended someone that calls himself F5. Since when does one GB get a topic locked?

The Taco Belle: "Used to live in Michigan so I have to pick them. Is that love? NO!"
I was born in Michigan. But, I have to pick my Alma Mater, from my fair city, Louisville, which I do love.
Here are my picks for the F4 on Saturday:
-- Louisville over Wichita State. -- Michigan over Syracuse
(So, we may be playing each udder in the National Championship game.)

I guess you have a valid point there. After all, we are all related, ain't we? And Lexington is much closer to eastern Kentucky (where the truly elite are inbred). ;)

We really do appreciate you and coach Calamari for letting us shine this year.
But, we do still have two games to go. So we appreciate yours, coach Calamari's (and Ashley Judd's) ongoing support of UofL in the big dance.
Go Cards. I LOVE 'Loo-uh-vull.
