We'll see how long this one lasts. :D

edit: To the best of my understanding, this topic (or others like it) was supposed to act as a healthy, positive medium or equilibrium, if you will, between persons of different political and ideological backgrounds.

Something to lighten up the mood a little.

Not sure who moved this topic, but I'll bring it back.

"Today, I operated on a little girl. She needed O- blood. We didn’t have any, but her twin brother has O- blood. I explained to him that it was a matter of life and death. He sat quietly for a moment, and then said goodbye to his parents. I didn’t think anything of it until after we took his blood and he asked, “So when will I die?” He thought he was giving his life for hers. Thankfully, they’ll both be fine."

I cried. Yes, a grown man. I cried. (The title is "60 Tiny Love Stories to Make You Smile")

Wow sissurf. Those were something! I would NOT want to be the victim of those pranks. Seriously, I found myself identifying with the unsuspecting public and being creeped-out. So I guess I'd have to say I don't love drama that much - unless I'm in a movie theater (which, apparently is TNT's catch). Well done.

Unbelievable! Mama Dog Saves Her Puppies From Drowning!!

This article is from a blog, and I could not locate the date, but I heard about it on the radio yesterday.

"Turkish firefighters tried saving eight puppies that were trapped inside a drainage canal as it filled with water – but the pipe was too narrow for them to fit. Amazingly, Mama was close by, and one firefighter on the scene called her over to alert her to the scary situation. Then, she did what any mom would do – she completely stepped up."

There are pictures :)

I appreciate your comments Sis. I'm sorry your mom did not show you love. Thanks for the video. The message is right - childhood does affect our lives, but doesn't control us (only if we let it).

In the Christianity thread I had started a Father's day tribute titled. Topic: "Fathers and Daughters"... A Father's Day

"On this Father's Day, I honor the good parts in my father."

I like how you put that!

I just wanted you to know, mini, you are not alone. My father was a very loving man, but my mother was the complete opposite. I could never understand how he put up with her all the years they were married. I even told my father that one day.

My mother was not a hugging, loving person, and she was the hardest on me being that I was the oldest of four.

I use to love it when my mother would wash my hair. It was only then that I got to put my little arms around her waist and hug her while she dried my hair. She would push me away sometimes, telling me I was hugging her to tightly. I would back up a bit, and try to sneak a hug in later.

The only time I ever heard my mother say she loved me was when she left a message on my recorder, and then when she was passing away. She told my sister to make sure with her last words to tell me she loved me.

I've always had a hard time on Mother's Day, and still do even though she's been gone for over 3 1/2 years.

Thanks for sharing, mini, your heart felt inner soul that made me also able to break loose out of mine.

It's coming up on 6 years since my father died. If he were still alive, he would have been 80 next month. He was distant, and we were not very close. He was tough as a father, and it was a difficult, strained relationship. Although it was hard for him to show it, I know he loved me. When I hear people talk about what a wonderful father they have/had, I used to vacillate between anger and hurt. Today, it is a quiet sadness.

On this Father's Day, I honor the good parts in my father.

I remember about 20 years ago when my wife and I took our first cruise. One of the evening's movies at one of the theatre screens one night was - GHOST.

Well, I hadn't heard of it and thot it might be a Casper thing or such. I went kicking snd screaming (not really) but I went because my wife wanted to see it. As it turned out, it was a great love story movie, and I'm so glad I went.
