The Energy Information Administration released its weekly report on the status of petroleum inventories in the United States today. 
Here are some highlights:

CRUDE INVENTORIES:
Crude oil inventories increased by 1.7 million barrels to a total of 388.1million barrels. At 388.1 million barrels, inventories are 6.0 million barrels below last year (-1.5%) and are in the middle of the average range for this time of year.

GASOLINE INVENTORIES:
Gasoline inventories increased by 0.7 million barrels to 215.0 million barrels. At 215.0 million barrels, inventories are down 10.4 million barrels, or 4.6% lower than one year ago. Here's how individual regions and their gasoline inventory fared last week: East Coast (-0.2mb); Midwest (+0.1mb); Gulf Coast (+1.3mb); Rockies (N/C); and West Coast (-0.5mb). Well then prices should be dropping not trickle down. Something is wrong with the system when it jumps up at a whim but takes for ever to come down.

internal prices go up, supply availablility increases, and instead of using our supplies to reduce/stabilize our own prices, we export more...don't figure

Not sure what this means. I remember a few years back when natural gas prices were down that the local natural gas supplier said that since prices and demand were down so much, they would need to RAISE natural gas prices. Then when demand and prices increased, they would need to RAISE prices. Something tells me tue supplier was trying to come up with an excuse to raise prices. :/
