Motorists hitting the road in the last week probably haven't noticed much, but the national average is seemingly on its way lower. Average gasoline prices across the nation fell almost 2 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.63/gallon, or about a nickel more than a year ago.

Many states have seen some relief, and more is on the way for many, but I'll pinpoint Washington and Oregon as two states that may not see relief as quickly, and could temporarily see higher prices as tight supply put upward pressure on retail gasoline prices.

Some of the cheapest gasoline prices today in the U.S. are found in Oklahoma, where prices average $3.35/gallon, a 4 cent drop versus last week. Other states with among the lowest prices: Montana...

not around here. It's still more than a quarter higher in average than last year and still about a dime more than last month.

China got Iraq's giant ocean of cheap easy to access oil--and we got fracked! China pumps oil of of their super cheap oil leases in Iraq(over 60% of Iraq's incredible SUPER CHEAP oil leases, that were made available to China-and a host of international oil corporations, by our foreign policy in 2003/2004 are now controled by China, and have been for a while ) for a tiny fraction of OPEC/world market price-and Russia+ India are right on their heels----and this is just the beginning, they are talking with Iran,Kuwait, and Venezuela about their cheap easy to access oceans of oil-and leases. If you feel like ruining the rest of your day,do some reading about it on Google-and don't be fooled by the sugar coated articles that say it's oa GOOD thing China won the Iraq war without firing a shot-and their control of Iraq's oil helps keep the manipulated world price of crude oil high enough to frack, and steam tar oil out of sand pits--because that it the opposite of GOOD!

I'm with fedupp on this one. And while we're debating long-term policy, what is the purpose of ooohing and aaahing over every penny shift in prices? It just feeds the speculators.

If we are ever going to see cheap oil/fuel again(which I highly doubt)we will need a completely different plan than pumping 3-9 million gallons of water, and thousands of gallons of expensive diesel fuel down depleted oil wells-or holes in the ground that should have never been oil wells(fracking)--and steaming tar out of sand pits with expensive solvents, and massive quantities of natural gas(tar sand oil)--it would be one thing if Iraq,Venezuela,Kuwait,Iran,Saudi,ect.ect.ect. were out of cheap easy to access oil--that is not the case, what is the case is our foreign policy the last 11 years drove the manipulated price of crude oil high enough to even make a profit off of frack oil,and steam tar oil--and why not? We will just pay for all of the extra costs from now on-----we saw $1.00 per gallon gas out of $20.00 per barrel oil----what makes anyone think we are going to see $2.00 gas out of $100.00+ per barrel oil?

It's dropped here in Maryland too. It would be nice if it were to continue, but I'm not betting on it.

We are not seeing much relief around here. We used to stay below the national average, but now it seems Marathon has managed to push us up above the national average!!!

I think gas was cheaper last week. On my commute, 3.609 is the norm now. Last week, it was 3.589. The week before it was in the upper 3.60's.
