if we are doing so good why do the things going on in Iran make the price per barrell go up?

gasoline demand won't increase without a significant price drop....and don't forget the 20 million not working thanks to 2 terms of obama and a do nothing congress, add more fuel efficient cars and alternate energy supply(elec, Nat gas) and the demand will continue to drop....and the economy will continue to stay slow

Not a surprise still. And now NY is looking to put 1,000,000 barrels in reserve at a TBD location near New England/NYC for times when weather knocks out power (think Superstorm Sandy).

no where in the article does it say anything about the record crude inventories as the title misleads us to believe.yes the total is higher than last year, but the price remains ridiculous

Because the lifting costs of frack, shale, and steam tar oil are far beyond affordable--without sky high manipulated world market oil prices, north America's leftover, hard to access, extremely expensive to lift oil resources stay in the ground. How "they" ever convinced so many people that North America was somehow even close to the massive, easy to access, super cheap oil resources of the middle east and Venezuela--I will never know--AM radio is my best guess.Oil for 10x too much? Yes,cheap oil...never.

If we have that much then why is gas 10x what the price is in countries that have nationalized their oil industry?

The inventory numbers really don't move the wholesale price as long as they're in the "normal" band.

Inventories are up for refined and NON-refined oil, but the price to consumers continues to rise.

Time for another take-back. We consumers should cut back on driving by consolidating trips and stopping the Sunday drives to nowhere, thereby reducing the demand on oil producers, distributors, and station owners.

ONCE THEY FEEL THE MIGHT of the driver, they will decide a LOWER profit is better than NO profit at all.

Everyday I am on here I see people post "why is gas so high?" Gas will always be high if "we" (really it's "they")keep doing what we have been doing since march 20 2003,period.Cheap oil only comes from two places on earth-the middle east, and Venezuela--somehow through AM radio, some political candidates-and a massive propaganda campaign-north American oil developers have convinced at least half the population that the US and Canada have cheap oil? The exact opposite is the reality, north America has the highest lifting costs on earth-and will never provide anyone with affordable oil/fuel-with lifting,or break even costs of between $65.00 and $90.00 per barrel, north America's frack, shale and worst of all steam tar oil-are the exact opposite of affordable oil/fuel--and will be,no matter how much they extract--in comparison, true oil rich nations like Iraq,Iran,Saudi,Kuwait,Venezuela, ect have lifting costs of a couple of dollars per barrel-in some locations it still blows 300 feet in the air--our oil resources dont even hold a candle to that-without war, lies, propaganda, changing the trade laws, ect. they could have never gotten the manipulated world market price of crude oil high enough to frack-and steam tar out of pits in the first place--get used to $100.00+ crude oil, without the sky high price, they will stop fracking, and steaming tar out of pits-and we all know that is not going to happen.
