The U.S. Court of Appeals had already ruled back in 2005 that the city wasn't allowed to impose a tax without approval from Congress, which was and is unlikely. This comes as both Virginia and Maryland have increased the use of tolls on major roads in the last decade, and suddenly DC figured out that they too, could be using tolls for revenue.

Authorities in Washington, D.C. have proposed to toll I-295, I-395, and I-695, which are routes heavily trafficked by commuters. The National Capital Region...

RockyGuitar said: "More taxation is always the answer for these leftists."

And it always works out so well, doesn't it? Like Ted Kennedy's disastrous Luxury Tax.

All these failures. All of Obozo's many failures...and they STILL insist on doing what doesn't work!

If I read the information correctly, it said, the keen 1 percenters started out paying 90% taxes! but they have now made it equal and pay 28-35%. It would seem if they make 400% more than their hired help they would have to buy more than 1 of everything they purchase to help the economy. Toll roads would also be rare. Long live the 1 percenters, perhaps.

Know that this is old news, but sure hope they don't give all of the DC politicians 'Free Passes' to use the roads. They're on them as much as everyone else!

Hitnmiss - "The US government is better at stealing tax payer money than Al Copone was!"

Could be, but this is the DC city government, not the US government.

Governments are low on cash and this is a great way to fill their coffers to help run government programs not associated with fuel taxes already put on drivers.
