By 2025, global demand for crude oil could grow by 15 percent to 20 percent even as modern fuel efficiencies reduce the amount of gasoline and diesel consumed by U.S. cars and planes. That’s what Valero Energy Chairman and CEO Bill Kiesse told his audience at an energy conference in Houston last month.

The North American energy resurgence, “is the biggest thing that’s happened in my career,” said Kiesse, who’s spent 45 years in the energy industry. “The country’s base of gas reserves now seems almost unlimited, said Kiesse, adding that the world won’t see a peak in fossil fuels demand “in my lifetime.”

And even as fuel consumption declines in the U.S., the energy boom could mean a 'golden age' for a U.S. energy-driven...

not for long. Only until we reach an equilibrium where we cannot produce enough food for all the population growth.

This old earth does not have enough natural energy left in her to be able to sustain the rate of humnan population growth of the future.

We will never run out of oil but it is going to get even more expensive relative to our incomes.

Global population growth implies 'Golden Age' for energy-based economies? Global demand for crude oil could grow by 15 percent to 20 percent even as modern fuel efficiencies reduce the amount of gasoline and diesel consumed by U.S. cars, trucks, and planes. A decline in oil consumption is unlikely as it would require a displacement of oil as the main ingredient in transportation fuels.
***The world will experience an increase in population with more people and more demand for oil based fuels. ***More population/people, requires more fuel and higher prices at the pump - less fuel required, higher prices at the pump. Big Oil will keep their profits whatever the current demand happens to be.
***Alternative fuels and energy can help lessen the demand but at what cost?
***Take care of the domestic fuel market first and above all else before exporting and selling fuel or natural gas to other countries!
This is a strange 'Golden Age' article..... Those that have the 'Gold,' controls the price.
Drive vehicles with high mpg, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Some people are sadly misinformed if they think that the U.S. oil/gas exploration will do ANYTHING to stave this off.

What a great time to be an American, sitting atop huge reserves of oil that every country in the world needs and wants to buy from us!

Just imagine how good our economy and our lives and our healthcare could be if only Obummer wasn't our so-called president!

Consumers don't be fooled by this silver tongued fox, he wants to export CRUDE oil and Liquified Natural Gas any way he can. That is a bad thing for consumers.

Population and transportationa and heat demand is growing. Think and invest on alternatives. Teach your child to use his or her bicycle. Urge your local government to invest in fast and efficient public transportation.

Much to think about. What about the new Tesla car. If they get that battery figured out the industry may change along with the battery busines.
