Because the gasoline they are using is made with crude oil that costs many times more to get out of the ground than the oil in true oil rich nations-it makes no difference if you conserve, they will refine it one or two steps and export it---cheap oil comes from the middle east and Venezuela and nowhere else-and we are all going to pay the extra costs for north American developed and extracted frack, shale and steam tar from now on-about $70.00 extra per barrel.

If this is true it is the oil companies ploy to jack up prices like in the 70's and is all propagandist Communism in cahoots' with the government! All a bunch of BS just like the 70's so called shortages, there was never a shortage, was just the communist oil company way of manipulating the price where they wanted it , and you bought it! I know for a fact it was BS, there was plenty of gas and oil! they manipulate the prices on the stock market and have the way to do so!

Whoever titled the article should be thrown in stocks at Times Square so we can all throw rotten tomatoes at them. Considering the US uses about 18 mil barrels of oil per day and we have a total of 360 mil barrels in inventory, being down 7 mil compared to an amount 365 days ago is trivial... Over exaggerating to sell papers and increase prices is shameful.
