A $3.399 gal Future?...Maybe, But, Prices to Take a Major Rollercoaster Ride Throughout the Year!

U.S. gasoline prices will indeed see huge swings and regional volatility in 2014, but GasBuddy analysis suggests that when all the final figures are calculated, the average price next year will fall by about 10cts gal from 2013 numbers. That would push the yearlong average below $3.40 gal for the first time since 2010 when motor fuel averaged $2.78 gal for the year. The usual upside risks will still be present (U.S. refinery maintenance, storm threats, disruption in the Middle East and North Africa) but 2014 projects to be a year that will find more consistent downward pressure on U.S. prices than in any year since the Great Recession...

Same old story here. If you want to drive, you have to pay the price (up or down) !!!!

All I can say is that it has jumped a lot in the past 14 days. And to thing the summer blends are still weeks away.

Nicely researched and presented. The consumer behavior section is particularly honest. Who knows?

Are they expecting refinery outages for Michigan or have they already planned them for key times to make extra money?? So why is the price hike expected to be at the highest levels?

I'll take a $2.78 average for the year any day.

With the amount of oil being fracked, we should have a lot cheaper prices at the pump.

Its that time of year when predictions are made about things ... but no matter how it turns out, we will still pay the price at the pump if we want to drive.
