According to GasBuddy.com, the national price for gasoline this Thanksgiving will average $3.27 gal, a whopping 16cts gal less than last Thanksgiving, and 5cts gal cheaper than 2011.

Black Friday consumers have about $1.93-billion more to spend on items other than fuel this November thanks to savings seen so far this month. The savings versus 2011 is an equally compelling $1.5-billion, but November fuel costs project to about $2-billion more than in the same month of 2010.

Some states are seeing much greater savings than others. Residents of Utah can give thanks to average fuel prices that are 50cts gal below Thanksgiving 2012 and Rocky Mountain states all find deals some 10 percent or more below last year.

Compare what savings from 2005 2008? In 2008 we saw the highest oil prices in history $40.00 per barrel more than now-from 2003-2008 oil per barrel went up $120.00 per barrel from $25.00 per barrel in 2003 at the start of the Iraq war to $145.00 per barrel by July 2008-the market crashed just after that, and as soon as it came back up the prices were back where they were-now we have oil prices high enough to even make a profit off of leftover frack and shale oil-and if you are paying any attention at all you will notice they are keeping it that way-because they can't develop if the price is low,you don't get cheap fuel from extremely expensive to develop leftover oil resources.

The price of barrel of oil has gone down three days in a row, so the price at the pump had to go up to gouge those traveling for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Takeaway: Big Savings Over Last Year. Fuel prices at the pump are less but need to go down much more. The fuel prices should be much lower for this Sneekers666 'spending gone wild,' 'very bad 'in the crapper,' 'dog and pony show,' socialist economy to recover just a little more than what it's ever going to do otherwise!
My income still has not increased with these lower fuel prices.
Compare the savings at the pump with 2008 and 2005.
Have a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
Drive vehicles with high mpg, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

I'm sorry, but I don't consider a .16¢/gal savings "whopping". Now if you're talking about a $1/gal savings, THAT'S a different story.

We aren't seeing any significant savings here.

Even with 10 to 15 cents a gallon that amounts to a couple of bucks on a typical fillup.

I won't be buying lots of Christmas presents on that amount of savings.
