This is exactly what most people here dont want to hear----if the world price of crude goes too low--they will stop developing oil here, because it costs too much.Increased American and Canadian oil and gas development exists because of sky high oil prices-not as an answer too them---the world market had to be severely manipulated to get oil this high--this is and has been done for 40 years by f-ing with the middle east---there has never been a real oil shortage, only fake ones(oil embargo OPEC-Iraq war ect.)

They dont care if demand is down, they will just slow imports of refined fuel and export more refined fuel---the number they care about is price per barrel----if it goes below $80.00 the companies that develop American frack and shale will have to stop--at that price our oil is no longer economically viable.

Giant corporations have been spending countless amounts of money for a hundred years to keep us from growing hemp(only legal in times of war because it is so important)and with the new corporations united ruling we can probably forget it----it makes way to much sense to grow, and average Americans would be able to thrive again-and it seems no one in our government ever wants that.

The import numbers are up again. Must be following decrease in refinery production from closures.

I dont understand why most people expect cheap oil prices from extremely expensive to develop frack and shale oil? If OPEC decides to open the flood gates our leftovers will sit in the ground, because it costs way too much to extract----if the price per barrel goes below $80.00brl they will stop fracking and $80.00 per barrel is at least $40.00 too much per barrel---------OPEC still has oceans of the same $10.00 a barrel oil they had before the wars, deregulated banks, and out of control speculation--one huge problem with us ever getting affordable oil again is the fact that China controls at least half of Iraq's oil now and Russia is also starting to develop the last great wide open cheap oil resource on the planet. Our resources simply cost too much- always have always will,we could probably grow and refine hemp cheaper-Henry Ford did it.

Gas has dropped recently, down to $3.42 from the $3.65 price of a few weeks ago, when it jumped up 40 cents. It still has 20 cents to go.

If they regulate how much corn goes into gas maybe they should legislate how much gas each must produce or face monetary penalties.
