Mich. officials issue motorists warning on motor oil sold in state. Motorists in Michigan should be aware of substandard motor oil and transmission fluid that could cause major engine damage. The products did not comply with the Michigan Weights and Measures Act, 1964 Public Act 283.
MDARD discovered the products Do Not contain the amount of product claimed, the motor oil does not meet the viscosity labeled on the container, when products do not meet viscosity levels it can cause lasting damage to vehicles.
The products were sold at discount and party stores? Party Stores? Why is motor oil and transmission oil sold there? Is this some cheap foreign imported crap that does Not meet motor or transmission oil regulations here? Motor and transmission oil sold in deep discount stores? ***That same oil or something like it could be in a store near you!
Always buy products from reputable stores and reliable businesses. All major retail and department stores have no problem when buying products from them.
Look for the many US quality seals printed on the container, there are more than one.
***Much like the ethanol crap added to fuel, it can cause lasting damage to engines!***
Drive vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

I always stick with "name brands" of oil. They have a reputation to uphold. And a dollar or two more, is worth it.
