The Energy Information Administration released its weekly report on the status of petroleum inventories in the United States today.

Here are some highlights:

CRUDE INVENTORIES:
Crude oil inventories increased by 3.0 million barrels to a total of 362.0 million barrels. At 362.0 million barrels, inventories are 2.5 million barrels below last year (0.7%) and are near the upper constraint of the average range.

GASOLINE INVENTORIES:
Gasoline inventories decreased by 0.6 million barrels to 217.8 million barrels. At 217.8 million barrels, inventories are up 16.6 million barrels, or 8.2% higher than one year ago. Here's how individual regions and their gasoline inventory fared last week: East Coast (-0.2mb...

Inventories may not have changed but the prices sure did! Oil went up over $110 a barrel yesterday and our gas price jumped up $0.25 a gallon yesterday - a great day all around ... for someone.
