Three cheers! It appears the surge in gasoline prices across the Great Lakes states is soon to be over. For the last four consecutive trading sessions, spot gasoline prices (which influence retail) have dropped a healthy amount.

The sudden change comes as ExxonMobil reports its Joliet, Illinois refinery back online, and with it, an expected increase in gasoline production. Perhaps the best news was from the Energy Information Administration today, highlighting a healthy increase in the amount of gasoline supply in the region, likely as motorists curb their consumption of record high priced gasoline.

States to see the biggest relief at the pump in the next week include Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Ohio will...

Fear not. Conservative Republican speculators will find other 'reasons' retail fuel prices must go up.

This year you will see $3.50-$4.50 gal gas next year you will see $4.00-$5.00 gal gas.The big players in the oil world are under control and oil men have nothing to worry about,oh wait they have to make up stories once in A while to explain why they are robing us every day.Its A ten year old story and it does not have A happy ending.

Can't drop it too low or they will let their oil tankers set off shore as they did before waiting for it rise again.

Cheap oil comes from Iraq Iran Saudi Arabia and Venezuala-and we wont be geting any of it sorry every one of us got had 10 years ago.More oil being produced here-the price at the pump goes up.the oil game is fixed friends and the price will never go down significantly until we eliminate OPEC and gain access to countries that have real oil reserves(good luck)

One of our local Speedway gas stations dropped to $3.99 yesterday, but by the end of the day had jumped back up to $4.12 a gallon. Now they are at $4.08, with other stations hovering around $4.10 a gallon.

My local Admiral gas station is at $3.99 today, but the clerk hinted today would be an extremely busy day, as other stations are jumping up in price again.

Who knows?!

Energy Information Administration?
That certainly sounds official and governmental...

How long has it been around? How come we have never heard of it until today?

This is my personal opinion, but this article is BS ! The only reason gasoline is coming down is because these Idiots in Lansing finally got off their lazy butts and are starting to investigate this big spike in gasoline prices ! And BP and ExxonMobil knows they can't really give them a true and honest answer !

Big relief coming to Great Lakes motorists. Refinery back in operation and an increase in gasoline production. Fuel prices can go up fast but come down slow, slow and slow. A decrease in fuel prices is needed for this area. The Sooner, The Better!
When will this happen again and the fuel prices go up, up and up?
Drive vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!
