This is such A joke!!! we let Bush$Cheney shut down Gigantic supplies of oil with their axis of evil B-S. ( Iraq and Venesuala Russian Caucesses all off limits or close to it)And then fill their pockets with oil revenues no bid contracts and pay offs. And now people belive this crap? or somehow the whole thing is Obamas fault? this all went down 10 years ago,About the same time the economy started to tank.If we dont start talking about what really drives up the price of oil-and start doing somthing about it we will never recover.

EIA: Crude inventories hit record high, refinery "bottleneck" keeping gas prices high and Big Oil's profits continue to rise at our expense. More confusion and deceit.
Crude oil inventories increased, Gasoline inventories decreased, Distillate inventories increased, Refinery utilization decreased 0.9% from last week, Total US oil stocks are up 3.3% over last year and there are still high fuel prices at the pump! The fuel prices at the pump should be much lower for 'coming out of the closet' Sneeker666 'spending gone wild' very bad 'in the crapper' socialist economy to recover just a little more than what it's going to otherwise! But, that's not going to happen! NO! NO! NO!
Big Oil and Big Gas sells fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices. 'Coming out of the closet' Sneeker666 lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and 'in the crapper' economy, the jobs are Not here. Sneeker666 economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continue to be down!
No Thanks to the Mindless Pinhead Sheep that voted this bozo 'Sneeker666' back in office. Can't wait for Sneeker666 to fade away like it was a very bad eight year nightmare!
The sooner, the better! Zeeesssscch!
The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon - *$3, *$3.50/gallon or *$4.00 is Not the new low!
**More Refineries are Not the Answer, Stop Exporting Fuel Is the Answer!
*If 'they' can export all that fuel, there are enough refineries already, there are NO need for More Refineries!
Take care of the domestic fuel market first and above all else before exporting and selling fuel or natural gas to other countries!
Drive vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

We can ALWAYS count on our "friends" in the middle east to help out. It's a real shame we don't have any oil here in America. What's that? Oh, we DO have oil reserves? Then maybe we need a government that favors developing our domestic reserves, do you think?

Gee, I wonder if anyone has thought about building a couple of new refineries? (That is sarcasm, in case you didn't recognize it.)

@rugbyphil "until the environmentalist lighten their hold over building new refineries,"

Yeah, we're all sure it's all about environmentalists and not profits.

There's always a refinery "bottleneck" of some sort. I'm waiting for some oil executive to have a change of heart one day and reveal how many of these "bottlenecks" are invented to jack up prices.

If the speculators allowed supply and demand to apply the price would settle down and the economy might BEGIN to recover but as always there is always the GREED factor.

does anyone that posts here actually belive that we cant refine enough fuel to drop the price 300%? I doubt it. Make refining profitable and you will see refineries pop up like weeds.the only reason they dont is they make billions more this way.

We could grow efective bio fuels (like hemp sugar cane) not corn and drop the price by half, but thats blocked and controled also.

The oil people make plenty of money. Why not build newer facilities that can produce at a greater rate.

Exactly where BigOil wants it. Plenty of supply (which they don't have to buy), a shortage of facilities and/or workers (which cost them nothing) and high wholesale & retail prices which gives them outstanding return on their investment. Genius!
