Memorial Day stands just two weeks away, and with U.S. and Canadian gasoline prices going up, some are asking how long this may last and where prices may move to. I'll try to provide some explanation of both.

The week ahead will likely see gasoline prices advance in slightly over two-thirds of communities. These areas will likely be the Plains states as well as the West Coast. The Great Lakes will continue to see prices hold in the upper-$3/gal range. Areas of the Southern U.S. may see little change- some areas will rise, some may drop.

So what's been going on to cause this sudden upward trend? Well, in some areas of the country- mainly the West Coast- suddenly appearing tightness in gasoline supply is likely a significant...

Bilary left. It figures, the democRATS know enough to get off a sinking ship.

The House would love to impeach Obozo, but then it would be looked as a Tea Party power grab. And, of course, it woudn't go anywhere in the Senate.

It's the only industry that raises prices when a holiday approaches. All the others run sales on their goods!!

Future continues to point to slightly higher gas prices!? Big Oil produces less fuel at the refinery and exports fuel for higher profits, restricitng fuel supplies to the local population, fuel prices go up.
The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon - *$3, *$3.50/gallon or *$4.00 is Not the new low!
More Refineries are Not the answer, Stop exporting fuel is!
*If 'they' can export all that fuel, there are enough refineries already, there is no need for more!
Take care of the domestic fuel market first and above all else before exporting and selling fuel or natural gas to other countries!
Fuel prices have gone up significantly in the past week. Fuel prices are up much more than 'normal!'
Drive vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Interesting analysis. Here in Montréal, prices are on the rise tonight to $1.399/L, from an average of $1.304/L late in the afternoon for 87-octane regular gasoline. Given that a US Gallon is equal to about 3.785 litres, that's an increase to about $5.295/US Gallon from about $4.936/US Gallon.
