Ford is at it again. They announced yesterday a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine that will be available on new Fords starting soon, and features turbocharging to boost fuel economy.

Production of the four-cylinder 1.5-liter EcoBoost – the fifth member of the EcoBoost family – will commence initially at Ford’s world-class facility in Craiova, Romania, later this month. Other manufacturing locations will be announced in the future. The new engine will be first introduced in China in the all-new Ford Mondeo, making its public debut later this month at Auto Shanghai 2013, with applications following in the Fusion sedan in North America this year, and later the new Mondeo in Europe.

turbo-charging is a good way to have reserve power and keep mileage up.

kma: we know that Ford has most models "Hecho en Mexico." For some I guess it's "American-made" b/c it's designed in the US.

As for trucks, never liked Fix-or-Repair-daily-s... Dodge would probably be my next choice. 3500 though. Tundra can tow, but it can't stop a large towing capacity.

Here's one for all you "Buy American Made Vehicles, save your job".. & so on with the bumper stickers on your Fords, Chevy's, & Dodge.

Least American Midsize Car: Ford Fusion

The Ford Fusion is marketed as a close competitor to the similarly-priced Toyota Camry, but the Fusion’s DNA is significantly less red, white and blue. With just "20" percent of its parts coming from domestic sources, the Fusion is significantly less American than both the Camry and the Honda Accord, which are built with "80" percent domestic parts.
Least American Large Truck: Ford F-Series

Full-size truck buyers may be surprised that the Toyota Tundra uses more domestic parts than any of its rivals. With 80 percent of its parts from the U.S. and Canada, the Tundra is 10 percent more American than its closest domestic rival, the Dodge Ram, and significantly more American than the Ford F-Series, which gets 40 percent of its parts from other countries. The Proof / Percentages of Domestic Parts

Ford introduces new more fuel-efficient 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, made in Romania and introduced in other countries first?
Turbocharge an engine, stress the engine components, less reliability.
Ford is charging too much for their vehicles!
Make sure the vehicle the engine is installed in has: high mpg, is very safe, is very reliable, has a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!
