street: of course... that's the only way Pig Oil manages to still reap massive profit margins in a world economy that's stalled at best.

Refinery maintenance goes on every year so the crude prices should have factored that in. They love to put it to the consumer everytime there are negative issues that could diminish supplies despite the poor economic conditions.

The obama regime wants lower inventories too, the stated goal is gas at 8-10 dollars a gallon to discourage people from using gas.

The refinery folks want shortages. Why? Higher margins on their product. Simple economics and screw the public!

If gasoline inventories are down, I'm sure big oil will not be able to resist pushing prices way up. Time will tell.

If the govt really wants to help us, they would have the people in charge of all the refineries together and have them coordinate their maintenances. A long time ago, they did that with the railroads. Each carrier owned their own track. The govt forced them to standardize the track width, depth of the rails, and then they went after the car makers, standardizing the car coupling. They can do the same thing with coordination of refinery maintenance.

This is how gasoline prices are high. We need more refineries to offset this.

We all know these numbers don't affect gas prices. IF they'd quit exporting our gasoline, the inventories would stay about the same!

Refinery maintenance up, crude inventories up, gasoline inventories dowm, summer gas switch coming soon. Sure sounding like the industry is positioning to justify pump price increases. Look out!
