In the northeast where gasoline prices are volatile and fuel in too many places is still hard to find, about 1.9 million homes and businesses remain without power a week after Sandy’s winds and record tides swamped Lower Manhattan, Long Island and destroyed the electrical infrastructure in New Jersey’s seaside communities.

Freezing temperatures were forecast for areas of the NY-NJ metro markets tonight and tomorrow morning by Accuweather.com. New York's Mayor Bloomberg says the city may need to find homes for 40,000 whom Sandy has rendered homeless and on top of all that while the rest of the country prepares for Election Day tomorrow,

Funny how it is just a matter of time before any major natural disaster will occur. Keep Faith, have patience, and help somebody if you can. This life is not a race, I still like sunsets and rainbows.

"nor'easter". I hate that word. Nothing to do with what it refers to, I just hate it.

It's the weather, nothing you to do about it. Way to late to prepare.

Granted, this would be adding salt to a wound, but compared to Sandy, this should be minor.

Two hundred years too late to prepare. Break out the sand bags... 50-60 billion might help.

The blog is a little heavy on the gloom and doom. The area is recovering although not as fast as many would like. A disaster of this magnitude hitting 50 million people is not erased in a week or even a month. Patience!!

This has continued to be a major screwup for FEMA and Obama adminstration, much worse than Katrina because of the cold weather and numbers of people involved. Add this to the Bengazi coverup and the debt pile up and we have a cowardly inept leader. Hope the election will wash out the problem.

NE is still a sad situation. We can't control Mother Nature but it appears that preparation and help has been somewhat slow in the disaster areas, since they know that Sandy was on the way, long before it's arrival. Placing some 40,000 people will not be easy.
