Ethanol and electricity are currently the two most promising alternatives to gasoline, and investors need look no farther than Tesla Motors Inc. to find the biggest beneficiary of the transportation sector’s transition to new sources of motive power, analysts at Goldman Sachs said in a note.

The U.S. car market is “an open field at a historical crossroads,” the analysts said in the report, released Thursday. Ethanol and EVs get an edge based on cost, potential emission reductions, consumer payback and abundance of natural resources, they added.

"Ethanol and electricity are currently the two most promising alternatives to gasoline..."
And characteristically, govt is backing both, thereby guaranteeing that at least one, and maybe both will collapse one day, leaving the taxpayer on the hook for all the borrowed govt money spent to develop the one(s) that failed.

Ethanol is not energy efficient to produce from corn and pollutes worst than pure gas

I have to ask a question to all the Greenies and EV fans...although you are not directly creating green house gasses...where do you think the electricity you are using comes from? Coal, Natural Gas, Oil and Nuclear....yes some solar and wind....

So you are not a Green as you think...and tell me what will happen when you have to recycle your battery pack....how about the pollution then?

Tesla has found a niche market that has been boosted by climate change alarmists and government "green energy" policies. They are, however, a long way from becoming a mainstream player in the automotive market.
