It was the late 1990s when stories started circulating about Black Boxes, which recorded certain basic events critical to accident reconstruction, being put into automobiles. Like the NSA, automakers misled the public on how many such devices new cars were carrying, at first claiming it was just small test of those devices; ultimately we found out that their usage was already widespread. But the implications were clear: Should you be involved in a major accident, your vehicle’s Black Box might tell a completely different story than the one being peddled in a lawsuit.

Privacy is an illusion. When you took your neighbors rights to privacy away because you were afraid of them, you gave your own away as well.

Keep your old car and take the transmitter thing they want you to put on your car and hack it with your phone - so it has no idea that you are not parked in the garage. With the door down.

Hate Big Brother watching but love the fact that people won't be able to make excuses. Own up to your mistakes.

On the one hand... If you don't break the law, you have nothing to worry about.

On the other hand... Nobody's perfect, if you pass enough laws, everybody's a criminal.

We no longer have to worry about whether Big Brother is watching us or not, we know he is.

Welcome to the future, 1984 has arrived.

For the greater part, these devices are just another way to "efficiently" increase your driving costs.

What's wrong with just telling the truth as you understand it...?

Ah, yes, the "truth" could cost a person money. That pretty well defines who we collectively are.
